Reigate Heath is a lovely nine hole course set in a classic heathland setting, with heather, gorse and scrub aplenty. Alternate tees on the back nine give some different angles onto fairways and greens. Holes 4/13 (par 5/4) and 9/18 (par 3's) are the pick. Nice clubhouse and windmill, welcoming professional and friendly members. The only downside is the lack of both a course planner and any direction signing between greens and the next tees which can be confusing for the uninitiated.
Played Reigate heath on Sunday 6th March 2005 because all the other courses around were playing temp greens etc cos of the recent snow. I'm glad I did , what a lovely course, I will certainly frequent it again. If I had a gripe it would be general public walking their dogs and kids because it is public land, otherwise its worth visiting.
I am not normally a fan of 9 hole courses but played it last year with my society and am passing up the chance of weekend in Marbella in order not to miss this society day. I didn't play well last time yet still found it one of the most enjoyable rounds of the year.
Must be one of the best 9 hole courses in the country, an absolute belter situated in the middle of National Trust land. Course is played below a majestic windmill which is adjacen to the clubhouse. 18 different tees makes each hole very different second time around. Some of the holes would grace any full 18 hole course. Played it in winter and found it to be in superb nick. Lovely pine heather and gorse. Avoid in summer at w/e since plenty walkers taking their dogs for walk on course. None the less a must if in the area.
