I had the pleasure of playing the course on Thursday 09 October , what an absolute delight. Probably the best course I have played to date. The fairways were somewhat undulating and challenging at times and the greens were in an absolutely brilliant condition. The ground crews certainly know their business and are to be congratulated. Will I be back , too right I will.
Shhhhh ! This is an absolute gem. Played on Sunday 26th May in glorious sunshine in excellent company. The course was beautifully presented, with well manicured fairways and excellent greens which were very fine and true. The front nine is protected by sloping fairways, undulating greens and big trees (if you miss the fairway) The 9th is a real treat. The back nine was a bit more open but still beautiful, strategic bunkering and plenty of trees for the off line hit will cost you strokes. The Par 3 17th is short but challenging and catches yhe eye. The Club Pro Nigel and his assistantt Benji were generous with their time and advice and madeus feel most welcome. There are other better known clubs in the area but leave this place off your itinerary and you will have missed out an absolute gem.
Played Renishaw Park GC today 18/08/11. We played on the 2 for 1 greenfree scheme and it cost £21. Money well spent. What a wonderful course. 2 very contrasting nines and the greens were awesome. Fast but true and with tricky undulations. The 9th has to be one of the most demanding drives you could have the pleasure of playing. Once again great course and will definately be going back.
Played Renishaw on the way home from a golfing break in the Peak District, and it was arguably the best of the lot. The course is in great nick, with some of the best and fastest greens we'd ever played. Only Scarcroft comes close out of all the courses we've played this year. The front nine is fairly tight, with mature tree-lined fairways making club selection off the tee important. Back over the road for the back nine, which is much more open but pretty long. Altogether a very enjoyable golfing experience - and pretty good value at £19 apiece on a 2-Fore-1. Clubhouse/bar etc nothing to write home about, but also nothing to complain about either. If you're looking to play a quality course in the area, look no further.
This has to go down as one of the best courses in the region. Initially a little wary as the Pro had mentioned the club are still recovering from the floods of last year and a couple of fairways are not fully recovered. However, you would hardly notice. The course was spot on and the greens were outstanding, no excuses for missing putts oh apart from misreading the numerous undulations!! The course is mature, not 1 staked tree to be seen and obvious care has been taken throughout. A tricky tight opening 9 and then more open back 9 with 4 par 5s to make a decent score on. I arranged all the details via email with Nigel the club pro and he was brilliant, quick responses and happy to help in any way he could. In addition the all the members and the staff were really friendly and the food at lunch was excellent. We played on the 2-4-1 voucher scheme and believe you will be hard pressed to find a better course at better value. We will be returning very soon.
Well wot can i say what a great little course, i have played over 70 different courses over the past 4 years and this course rates as the one of the best of them.Me and my golfing buddy played using a 2 fore 1 voucher making it £14 great deal .The front 9 is great tight drives second shots were u have to think about it to avoid all the trees then u reach the greens were all the fun starts i have never seen greens as good as this from the first too the last they are just sensational top marks to the green staff!.The back 9 holes open up a little bit but beware dont let this fool you you still need to keep your wits about you to post a good score.all in all Renishaw Park Golf Club is one of the best course around for miles, big thanks too all the members and staff for making us feel very welcome, will be returning very soon
This is a course of two totally different halves. The first 9 holes are on rolling park land with some interesting shots. Some tight tee shots (don't just use the driver)and some second shots where you have to manuover the ball. The greens have both big and subtle borrows. The most memoral hole on the front 9 is the 9th what a hole! The second 9 holes are dead flat and more open, so you can use your driver (you'll need it).The short 17th is a great hole. The whole course is in good condition with the greens fast and true. The club house is homely and the food is good. This club is worth a day out.
