Rowlands Castle Golf Club

Played here December ,2012 ( £20 using a county card ). Reasonably decent course .Well maintained & conditioned (good fairways & greens) .Although its fairly tree lined it does have an open feel in places .Course isn't set over that large an area of land & there aren't really any views. Fairly flat , although the layout feels a bit long winded ( you play 15 & then head further away from the clubhouse) which does make it feel a bit of a long walk round. I liked the three par 5's ( 7 ,12 & particularly 17 ). The begining & end sections of the course were more interesting than the middle section , which was a bit mundane . The club was very welcoming. Overall ,pleasant course although somewhat uninspiring .Decent value using the county card & for me, worth playing once but i'm unsure if i'd really look forward to playing it again. Kevin B.

Very well maintained and picturesque course. Some well sculptured holes which require thought and varying shot shapes, the feature hole being the 13th with a tight fairway with oak trees in the middle to a sunken two tier green. The Greens are very slow although true and the rough is perhaps a little too short especially as the course is quite short with many holes being a 3 wood and 9 iron in. On the whole however a very enjoyable course with some great holes and a chance to shoot low scores for the longer hitters.
