Saltburn by the Sea Golf Club Ltd

If you head to the seaside town of Saltburn for the first time you may well be dissapointed to find that the course is not a links but is set about a mile inland. Despite this much of the early part of the course (and the last 2 holes) do have something of a links feel about them with lots of humps and hollows and a good number of blind shots. This might not be everyones cup of tee but personally i love this kind of golf. From the 7th onwards the course gets a good deal more open and flatter aswell as longer. This parkland part of the course is by no means bad but it's not the most exciting part of the course. The long par 3 12th is surrounded by gorse and is as hard a par 3 as you will play in a longtime. But my favourite hole is the par 3 18th - underground there are very old disused mines which tends to result in the land gradually changing over the years. So if like me you only play this course infrequently you never quite know what the contours of the hole will look like from the tee.

A short but demanding course with alot of blind shots. The terrain can be quite hilly.
