Saltford Golf Club

I'll be honest her and say I'd never heard of this place before a friend of a friend invited us here to play. This is a super course! A fairly open first ten holes, but what follows is just superb! The 12th and 16th are played over a big dip, both tough par 4's. 15 is a short par 4 which is probably drivable on a good day but the green is tiny! 17 is just a superb hole, a short par 3 with a raised hampionship tee....and I mean raised - the shot is played into the valley below with water at the front of the green - it's followed by a finishing hole all along the bottom of the valley into another narrow green. The food and general facilities are also excellent. It's a small scale members club, fairly understated and like me, a lot of people have probably never heard of it. Believe me, it's worth the visit!
