Selkirk Golf Club

A great course in a lovely town. A course that will challenge all from youngsters to big hitters. Most of the greens are of a fairly high quality and pretty flat (with the exception of the 1st which has a 2 tiers and 5th which has a monsterous slope at the front - hit the back of this green or youll be pitching from 20+ yards) Leave the fairway and you WILL be punnished!

Played Selkirk a few years ago and thought it was fantastic! We vowed to return and there is 16 of us playing in early May. Hope it is in as good order as last time, the greens were brilliant and the members exceptionally helpful.

Lovely Course situated on a hill. At first glance you would think it was going to be quite a walk but it aint that bad. Lots of heather and Gorse with some interesting holes. My favorites were the par 5 8th and the par 3 9th, both good holes on a course you should play for a good test of golf in the borders.

We play this 9-hole course every year on our tour of the Scottish borders; this has to be the most interesting and challenging of them all. No two holes are alike, and the 8th is a real test for any standard of golfing ability. And to finish is a very short par three with the tee at high level over looking the small green below. With all ones colleagues gathered on a knoll overlooking the green the pressure is really on to finish close to the pin. The members are friendly and helpful with their advise on where to aim for. Make this a “must play” course on any visit to the area, don’t expect a flash clubhouse and catering facilities this is what Scottish golf is all about.
