This has to be both one of the most challenging and yet most scenic golf courses to play. Cleverly laid out in the natural oak woodlands there are a variety of both long and short holes that will satisfy all levels of golfers. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition and the views will bring you back again and again. (Tip - leave the driver in the bag!) Staying there in the well designed lodges is a treat, and for the non golfers there is so much to see and do within half an hour's drive.

I have been to Souillac Country Club twice and I absolutely love the place. The houses for rent are lovely and the scenery is so beautiful. If you love golf, good food and vine it is definitely the place to go.

When you stand on the short par 4 first tee at Souillac Golf & Country Club's 18 hole course you think that this is going to be a piece of cake. As you walk off with a bogey you think, 'how did that happen?' And so on throughout this intriguingly well designed course which makes the most of the wonderfully wooded countryside and natural features, with some devilishly tricky greens. Enjoy!!

A wonderful course situated in the wooded hills above Souillac. Although short (only one par 5) the course presents a challenge to golfers of all abilities. A number of tight and hilly holes with some well thought out design provide a great test and invite you to play the course again and again. The club has some lovely lodges on the course which are available to rent either for a long weekend or for longer in the summer and its friendly feel makes you very welcome. The surrounding area is perfectly situated if you want to take a day off to visit the numerous sites of the Dordogne region.

A most attractive course high up in the hills above the Dordogne river. The course is carved out of oak forest and makes use of the site to create a series of spectacular holes. Overall the course is not over-long, with a variety of short and long holes. The club offers attractive accommodation in very good quality Swiss chalet style houses and Souillac and neighbouring towns and villages offer an abundance of excellent eating places and attractions for all the family.

An attractive and interesting course. Not long but requires thought and reasonable accuracy. Comfortable lodges provide a high standard of self-catering accommodation within a woodland setting and stunning views. Other facilities include a driving range and practice green, tennis courts, swimming pools and recreation area. The Clubhouse incorporates a friendly bar and restaurant. The Dordogne and Lot areas offer endless opportunities for walking, cycling, cannoeing and many hidtoric places to visit incl chateaux, gardens, pre-historic caves and many local markets selling regional products. The area also provides many attractive restaurants serving fantastic food. Golf is best in May, June, September and October when it is quieter. The club provides a safe environment for children. We liked it so much we bought one of the lodges !

What the course lacks in distance it makes up for in degree of accuracy and excellent greens. A well constructed and clever course, well maintained, with excellent views. A good test of golf. High standard of self catering accommodation available in lodges scattered around the couses, other facilities includeswimming pools in each hamlet, tennis courts, club house with restaurant and bar. In a region of France packed with interesting places to visit.

This is a tight little course, so although it's short it requires you to think a lot. The 4th may be a short par 5 but most will struggle to reach in 2. It's hilly without it impacting the playability too much. Best played before the mid day sun.
