ive been a member for about 4 years. not very long but lots of trouble of the tee and around the greens even harder when the wind is up and blowing on the front 9. very small greens so short game has to be good. its a good test of golf for anyone.
Played 5th april, 5 holes closed and 2 on temporary "greens" which were actually just un-mown bits of fairway. The tees were off the mats and on to patches of mud at the side of them. A very dissapointing experience
Played 09/02/06 - an excellent course with a fantastic layout, course in superb condition for the time of year with all greens open. Calm conditions are best for scoring as it can be very difficult in windy conditions becaue its exposed. Greens are excellent but also very tricky. Superb value at only 7 quid with a 2-fore-1 voucher.
Have played 3 or 4 times this winter and have always found it in decent nick with only the 18th green on a temporary. Is one of those courses that is sensibly priced, easy to get to, not overly difficult (which allows the 12 year old a decent chance of posting a score) whilst having a good mixture of holes that keep it interesting to the end. Well worth a look and we will certainly be regular visitors for the foreseeable future.
I've been a member at South Leeds for a couple of years now and am still trying to find the best way to play the course. Not long but you can't drive through or over the troubles, just drive yourself deeper into it. I'll often find myself playing 3 or 4 irons off the tee to be in the best position for a second shot. If you think you've got a good short game here is the place to test it. Great Value for money as a member or visitor
This course was designed by the best architect golf has ever seen - Dr Alister Mackensie. It is not long but it's very tight in places. The course is very intresting and every hole is very different. It's a hilly course mostly on located on the side of a hill. If your in the area and fancy a challenge it's well worth a look on a summers day. Not sure how it would fair on cold winters day as it's very expose to the elements. If you good around the small greens and hit the ball streight then you will score well other wise bring a sack of balls with you. Intresting this course is. 8/10.
Probably the best kept course i have played in leeds in a long time, fantastic fairways and immaculate greens. You won't find a better maintained course in Yorkshire for £16. The course itself is not particularly long but tricky in parts which made for an enjoyable round. Will definitely go back soon.
Not an overly long course which lacks a 2nd or 3rd par 5 or a few longer par 4's. Very tight in places with the front being the harder of the two nines. Excellent greens during late summer. All 4 par 3's are difficult.
