Played off the back tees (6800 yards), and although longish and in good condition, it's a pretty ordinary course.Very wide fairways- far too open.Admittedly the rough had been cut back, but you'd have to be wayward to hit the rough. Very nice staff, and the clubhouse is new and very pleasant.Very few members, so great if you just want to turn up and play any day of the week (if you're a member).Do note you can only play with a memebr at any time.

After reading some of the reviews below, I think that some may now be out of date. The brand new clubhouse is really top quality and the bar, although quite empty, was pretty comfortable. The course itself is in great condition, although I echo the comments about the rough - if the ball rolls into it you may as well tee another one up. There are highlights on various holes and some slightly more boring ones, but that is the same with every course really. All in all - pretty good.

Reading existing comments, thought I'd like to add mine. Nice clubhouse, well presented. You do have access to the member's bar I am told, after having being rebuffed by the waiter/barman, which is never a nice experience. Course is fairly hilly. 9 first holes are fairly long and plain, with not much subtlety involved. A fairly brutal experience, apart from the lovely number 9. Back 9 are somewhat better and have more golfing interest, with more bunkers, doglegs etc. it may appear. Again, number 18 leading to the clubhouse was my favorite. Greens were good, course does dry quite well but is wide open to the winds. Some lovely views over the rolling Chilterns. Some long walks between greens and next tees make the use of a buggey seem like a good idea.

First the good news: Played here in mid June with an experienced society of 20 plus members. The course was very nicely presented, the greens were excellent and the fairways wide but an accurate shot was needed to reach them in regulation. The bad news is the clubhouse, members and the catering. Just to find your way to the changing room and bar needed perseverance and luck. Go for the golf and enjoy the peace and quite of some beautiful countryside.

Very attractive and well maintained course. Greens were true even in early april. Very long, and open nature of course means the wind lengthens it even further. I loved the layout, if you're reasonably straight you can score, if not... Had the typical frosty reception from stuffy members in the bar though. If you pay your money, then how can these people complain? Very tedious and totally expected in this country in my opinion. A shame because I loved the course.

An enjoyable wide-open course with a linksy feel about it. On most parts of the course you can see for miles around you - the openness of the course made it very windy for most of our round. I found the rough a little on the long side but having said that, the fairways are wide enough for you to find. The staff told us that the course drains superbly and I don't doubt them as it rained the night before our round but the course was dry the next day when we played it. A course with challenges but one which you can also enjoy without undue stress.

This course is well presented, and well maintained throughout the whole year, only on very few occasions has there been a need to delay play on this course due to bad weather. The 18 holes each has a choice of tees,- Yellow, White, and Blue, for the men and of course red for the Ladies. The length of the course provides a challenge to the longest of hitters, but in the summertime although the fairways are often wide, you will also need accuracy and good stategy to stay out of the punishing rough. A course once played will have you coming back for more.
