GETTING BACK ON TRACK :) (Round played: 02-Nov-2015 - Score: 84 Handicap: 23.9) Having spoken to the owner about the problems discussed in my earlier reviews I'm delighted to say that they are going to separate the Foot-Golf from the course. We played today for the first time in 15-months and, albeit a little damp, I'm delighted to say that this little course has lost none of it's charm.

I recently visited Stonham Barns Golf centre with my son and 2 grandsons to play golf on their nine hole course. My grandsons are new to golf and were excited at the prospect of playing on a "proper" course. We had heard that Stonham Barns Golf Centre was perfect for beginners and juniors and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by friendly staff who offered my grandsons the loan of golf clubs free of charge. The course was just right for all of us, not too challenging for the juniors but a couple of par 4 holes to make it more of a challenge for the grown ups. The course was in really good condition with lots of trees and bunkers to make it interesting. We all had a great day out that was fantastic value at £7 for adults and £5 for the juniors to play either 9 or 18 holes. We shall certainly be returning again soon. It is refreshing to find somewhere that is is doing all they can to encourage more juniors and beginners to get into golf in a relaxed and friendly environment. I would recommend Stonham Barns Golf Centre to anyone wanting to start playing golf without the usual restrictions of a conventional golf club.

It's gone downhill big time! I've been going to this course for many, many years and last year I took out a semi-membership for my partner and I but we have cancelled that and will never go back again. The course is adjacent to a campsite and last year we had to complain about the campers wandering through it during holiday times. Our complaining email was replied to pleasantly enough but we got the impression that we were being fobbed off ... however, that's not the worst of it! They've since introduced 'Foot-Golf' which means that normal Golf is constantly held up by footballers kicking footballs all over the course and earlier this year play was held up for 40 minutes because one of the 'foot-golfers' had lost their ball in a tree! Again, we had a pleasent reply to my complaint but definitely got the impression that our concerns did not matter. The final straws were that a couple of days ago we watched as one of an elderly female golfer's two dogs took a POO on the course which she ignored and left there and yesterday we were again held up by 'foot-golfers' who were complaining that they could not wear boots!! We're so sad because we did like playing there every week but it's no longer an acceptable place to go. Stu & Dawn

Stonham Barns is an ideal place for junior and beginners to play. The Golf Centre has a small Mini Putt Course, a 28 Bay Golf range and a short 9 hole golf course. The course is only a par 29 but is great practice even for experienced players. A lovely place to visit with over 30 other stores and attractions on the Stonham Barns site.
