Played numerous times and i find the course average to be honest. The condition varys from very boggy in winter to baked in the summer. The greens always seem a little bobbly to me and i find i never have confidence to trust the ball will stay on the line ive hit it. Course is very open and you can generally open your shoulders with the driver without much fear. The signature hole 3rd is a par 5 measuring 660 yards from the yellows and 700+ from the whites, its a crazy hole because its out of range in 3 shots for 90% of golfers particularly as it always seems to play into the wind. You get the impression its just been made that length so its 'talked about' but its basically a letdown because its very straight and boring where you just have to keep smashing the ball forward. Id be very annoyed having a 700 yard par 5 on the card if i was playing in competitions here. The course will no doubt get better with age as its still very young but i just dont feel that the £24 fee is worth it considering other courses you can play for the same. The course is a little straightforward and uninteresting for me.

Played on a sunny June day. It was in very good condition for a newish course and there's enough variety to keep most people happy. Its not the longest course in the world (apart from the monster par 5 3rd - see below). Longer hitters will be left with little more than a flick for their approach shots on most of the par 4's. The greens were in good shape and they held up very well if you fired the ball into them. One massive par 5 which in my opinion is too long, especially off the whites (712yds). They could probably do with moving the tee forward a bit which would enable them to lengthen the short par 5 17th, then they would end up with 2 par 5's around 600 yards. There's also a very drivable down hill par 4, which i think would be better as a long par 3. Nice club house and patio overlooking the 18th. Small driving range if you want to loosen up first. Overall i was very happy with the course and a reasonable green fee. Will certainly be visiting again.

A thoroughly enjoyable days golf. Played after a period of wet weather and course was holding up excellently. Very friendly staff and members. The 3rd is a very, very, very long par 5 but has no character, not the best hole on the course. Having played the course a few times over a number of years, I have seen improvements every time i go back and will definitely be going back.

Played Styrrup lots of times now a good winter course but hugely overpriced at £22 when you look at the courses around it.Greens are poor and too much walking between tees even more so since the layout/hole change. Some fairways very poor but in time will make a nice course and be worth the price being charged but not for a good few years yet.

Played on 19th dec 2005.Was assured course was on full tees and greens,it was not, mats in play on 3 holes and temp.tee boxs 10 -20yards from normal tees. This I find annoying when i had phoned the previous day to check.i thought the course to be in ok condition and the greens were acceptable for the time of year. Some greens were soft some harder depending on the part of the course you are on .It is is forgiving and maybe for the single figure player not challenging enough but for the mid to high handicap player it would provide a good days golf.I payed £16 that also included fish & chips. It is worth visiting the course, found members and all staff to be very friendly.

i found this to be a very forgiving course. the course is only a few years old and the tree,s lining the fairways are only a few feet tall. the result is wayward drives dont often get punished, as shots back to the fairway are often unobstructed. (which suited me just fine) this said, the course is long and the shorter hitters might find it a struggle. the third hole is a mind boggling 711 yrds off the white tee's and 681 off the yellows. don't let the newness of the course put you off though, as all in all it is a cracker. £16.00 well spent. will definately be going back.

first time i have played this course, and i found it to be a most enjoyable round of golf. The course is suited to both low & high handicappers alike. It is one of the best maintained & friendly courses I have played in a long time - at £16 per round, an absolute bargain !!!!!!. Will deffinatly go again.
