5 reviews of Swinton Park Golf Club
We recently had an exchange with Swinton GC all our ladies enjoyed the course really tidy and manicured , it was a challenge to all level of handicaps. The staff and the catering was excellent . The members that we saw were very friendly Drinks and views on the balcony ,couldn't fault anything even the sun shone all day .
This course has clearly undergone some spectacular refurbishment since we played it back in 2009. Considering we are only in early May the greens are in fantastic condition, very quick and probably unplayable in august! It is a tough but fair test for all ability range. The single figure guys amongst our society particularly enjoyed the number of risk and reward shots on the longer par 4's and a number of the par 5's. With holes 1 and 2 making up 2 of the five par 5's you really need to get into your game quickly. The large modern club house had everything we needed with great views from the terrace over the 18th green, oh and the weather was good too.
Good course in great condition and every hole makes you think about how you are going to negotiate a route through fairways peppered with sculpted bunkers, or avoiding the cleverly positioned water hazards. The course will be a challenge to all levels of golfer. My only criticism was the sheer ignorance of some of the golfers on the course. 3 times during my round I was almost hit by players behind even though we could not play on due to the people in front. When confronted I received a shrug and “what’s your problem”. I would expect a lot more manners from the players at this type of club. A real shame to spoil a day of challenging golf which in turn takes the club out of the calendar for a future society event.
Great course in very good condition you will not be disappointed playing this course bar staff great bar food was good only complaint you could have is that we was a society booked for the day and the club squeezed another society in front of us which pushed us to over five hour round which is not good but apart from that play if you can
From starting on the first Tee to sinking your last put on the 18th you will not be disapointed as this easy to walk corse offers everything to all levels of golfer. Tree's, flowers, wildlife, sand and water, the 5 par 5's even offer the opertunity to sink your put for birdies and posibly an eagle. The 19th offers a splendid selection of food and drinks with a very friendley atmosphere. In my huble opinion the best parkland corse in the area.
