I have played this course a number of times with my son and while we are only beginners we found the course difficult to navigate due to the lack of direction markers for the next hole. the back nine has been built up with old soil and bricks and looks very tatty which is a shame. but the staff are freindly and this is a decent course for begginers...

No wonder there are not many reviews on this course,It has tottally been destroyed from the wonderful parkland course itused to be by a company tipping all around the back nine holes. The greens are in a poor condtion and resmble a lunar landscape

Fairways where in great condition , and well looked after , bunkers need a lot of work doing on them ,have better soil at home than theso called sand in them , some greens were ok , but alot need more work on them , part of the back nine looked more like a rubbish dump , bricks everywhere and lots of dirt with no grass on it , lacked simple signs to tell were the next hole is , and should not of run out of score cards ,my be i am picking at these points but this course could be very good if looked after

Enjoyable course in good condition. Played in a gale which really increased the distance off most tees, we also had had heavy rain the night before but the course in most part seemed to have drained well. The greens for March seemed in very good condition except for the number of pitch marks left on them, Come on fellow golfers please repair them! Hard to pick a favourite hole as think most offer some kind of challenge. Would advise phoning to book a tee time as this is a popular course.

One of the best laid out and interesting municipals I have played. Decent length, undulations and varied holes add to the enjoyment. The conditions are ok, but very acceptable if you take into account the low green fee, maximum £15.

Having played most of my golf as a junior at Hinckley I was a little worried about the etiquette at a municipal course, however I need not of worried, most players are very professional and as a resultI have become a yearly member. The players take the game very seriously, and most take a real pride the the course. The course is in very good condition and actually quite a challenge, the greens are are in good condition, and lovely wide fairways, so beginners will enjoy this course. Overall this is without doubt the most 'professional'munical course I've played.

Although I found the course quite a challenge and some very interesting holes, the standard of dress leaves a lot to be desired, I am not a snob but when you see a golfer going down the first hole in company with his wife and pushchair with baby on board!!!!, players are also allowed to wear tee shirts and trainers, but there again you must take account that this course is a municipal, but I won my match so it can't be all bad.

I am an 18 handicapper. An excellent value for money course, I played it the day before playing the Belfry and it was as good a test of golf as I have had of late, and certainly well worth the extra day. Some absolutely excellent holes for most grades of golfer. The narrow drive off the 10th is memorable as is the downhill 18th, a birdie on this sends you off the course with a good feeling. Must have done a deal with local council to procure their (bus) sorry rain shelters and bins though. Only negative note was generally very slow standard of play.

An excellent municipal with several holes of real quality. Greens were not at their best when I played, but it is still really good value. The course could really benefit from a yardage book as several shots are blind.

In the summer its a superb course, unfortunately it still turns very boggy on several holes after rain. The greens are in excellent condition. It's definitely a course for the bigger hitters

top value, the best public course i have played. Holes of note: 3rd par 5 with 3rd shot to blind green,18th great finishing hole downhill towards the clubhouse. geoff handi.6 Tavistock golf club.

The front 9 of the course is beutiful and in superb condition especialy the par 5 3rd which is tough because of a blind green. The back 9 is not that good for the short hiters but great for someone with a good long game

Course undergoing some much needed drainage work. When finished the front nine will be excellent. Back nine not so interesting but plenty of room to get off some long drives. Overall very good for a municipal and at £11.50 is good value.

the front nine on this cousre is superb for a municipal course but the back nine which seems much newer is not so good but has one or two good holes. the clubhouse is one to be avoided.
