4 reviews of The Dyke Golf Club
Very nice course with some lovely views across Brighton. Two really excellent par 3's (5th & 17th) and some good par 4's with some fairly stiff climbs. The four par 5's (of which three are in the first four holes) are ok but unspectacular. The greens were good but not at their best. We played it in calm conditions but it's a different course when the wind blows. Worth a visit on a nice day.
Have played this course twice and can recommend. Friendly good value pro shop and some testing, interesting holes, especially the two par threes over valleys. Also one particularly tough par 4 (stroke index 1). Chalk soil means the course is usually in excellent condition. Lovely views over Brighton and Hove...and fresh air ...lots of it!
We played on 27 April 2001. An excellent course with a good variety of hole in good condition. Difficult to pick a favourite hole from so many good ones - if pushed the two par three holes over ravines probably stand out the most. Everyone at the club was extremely friendly. We also got a discount on our green fee because the course wasn't in it's usual condition, even though it was superb!! Especially for the time of year. We will return.
The best downland course in the Brighton area. Always in really good condition as the chalk drains the rain away so quickly. Some excellent holes, especially the par 3s.
