Really impressed by this resort. Got a very good 1 night, 2 round package playing a round on each of the courses there, both of which were better than I expected. The course they played the Ryder Cup on was a real treat, the layout was excellent and a very good test. The other course (Smurfit) is a tad easier but had some very interesting holes and the greens were fantastic. Hotel was very pleasant and I'd love to return.

A fantastic place to play golf. We very much enjoyed our golf breaks here in March for 2 nights and 3 rounds of golf. If honest I probably could play the Palmer course for the rest of my life, it was very varied and an excellent challenge. Everything from the food to the service was far higher than I could've expected and would recommend this great venue to any golfer. Off the back tees it is a bit of a challenge, I'd probably say the yellows are better for anyone not off a handicap of less than 10.

Having played the Belfry and Celtic Manor previously I was very excited to add another Ryder Cup venue in the K Club to my golfing list. We travelled in September 2010 and were greeted with stunning sunshine and a golf course which was without doubt one of the best conditioned I've ever played. The course itself is set up for tournament play with a fantastic design that is sure to penalise any mishit shots. It starts off relatively straight forward however once you reach the par-3 3rd hole it is here where you appreciate you are in for a treat. With a narrow green set on its side there is little room for error with water and bunkers awaiting any misplaced shots. Each hole is very different and not overlooked (you can't see holes from other holes as you do on other courses). All in all I was very impressed with the course and whole set up. Its easy to see why so many professional tournaments were held here. Anyone looking for a five-star venue in Ireland shouldn't look further than here.

An outstanding course - expensive but worth every penny. Played Mid May - almost millionaires golf - hardly a soul around. Beware that this course is tough and given that the cut back the rough and widen the fairways for hackers like me, I hate to think what the Ryder cup set up looks like. The greens were like lightening - a slight tap on the downhill slope and it rolled and rolled. The combination of water and a large amount of very testing bunkering keeps you on your toes. Not really any easy holes. Good news is that the sand in the fairway bunkers is firm so you can play a reasonable shot for distance. It is probably the most picture perfect course I have played. Winding in and out of the river with numerous vistas has to come close to perfection. It was easy to become distracted particularly around the 16th which was truely fantastic. Off the white tees the course played around 6700yrds but felt much tougher due to the set up. Note that the 150 markers are to the front of the green, and the sprinker markers to the centre - for a few holes we got this wrong and under clubbed. Arnold Palmer himself designed and tweaked the course with notes in the stroke saver. Be careful about some of his comments they are clearly aimed at pro golfers. Best advice is keep it on the short stuff and play to your handicap. Club house impressive with nice practise facilities - all out doors. A warm welcome from the staff but not cheap - worth spoiling yourself!

This round cost £180.00, and it was worth every penny! Approaching the estate, and enjoying the mile drive thru the grounds, we sensed this was going to be something pretty special from the start. We played the Palmer course, the venue for the Ryder cup in 2006, and had the best days golf bar none. It is a challenging course, rated as the most difficult in the UK and Ireland by Golf World this year (presumably this is off the back tees I think the SSS is 74!) We played off the fronts, which shortened the course considerably. I have played more difficult – manging to play below my handicap, but I have never played a better course, this is simply awesome. They didn't even want to take our money at the end of the day, we had to insist on it - that's how good it is!
