myself and 3 friends played in the jubilee 4 ball open comp on Tuesday 5th June and all four of us loved the course, and for only £7.50 each it was a real bargain! The course is set in beautiful parkland settings with views across the river tyne across to Ryton and even Close House golf course. The course was in supreme condition on the day and had the best greens ive played on this year (up to now). There was a lot of people playing on the day but play flowed nicely although a lot of the fairways are tight and on top of each other and there was A LOT of calls of FORE coming from all over the course. Again though, this didn't detract from the days golf! There are a lot of memorable holes on the course but I think the signature 16th was possibly my favourite which I managed a 2 on! Other notable holes were 9th, 12th and 13th but I thought each hole posed a different test and every hole was different from the last. I think if I ever had the chance to play the course again which hopefully I will later in the year I would play a lot of the holes differently. Its definately a course where driver is not required on every hole and a long iron will suffice. We all had an enjoyable day and its a course I will definately return to in the very near future. Overall 8.5 out of 10
Played this course yesterday and can honestly say it's one of the best club courses in the area, if not the best. The greens are fantastic and run so true. It's very grand and there are some beautiful holes. The Par 3 12th is a stunning view to the green from the tee box and the elevated teeshot off the 10th is spectacular. It's not the longest course however; it's very quirky and thouroughly enjoyable for all standards of golf. Will defintely be revisiting.
A beautiful parklands golf course with stunning views to match. The course is relatively short distance wise but the undulating and sloping fairways make this a challenge for all golfers. The greens are fast and true with some having severe breaks - make sure you bring your A-Class putting game. The par 3 9th hole is particularly stunning and the other par 3 holes (6th & 16th) are also deceptively tricky. The 2nd hole is a long par 4 to a hidden green and will stretch all. The facilites are good and the catering was particularly excellent. All in all a great course and a tremedous day out. Recommended to all golfers (good, bad or indifferent).
