Wessex Downs Golf Course

After seeing the small run down sign on the A4 me and a friend decided to take a chance a play at the wessex downs course. As we were both new to golf and improving fast we had been looking for a great pay and play golf in the area and after stumbling upon this course we could not be more happy! We turned up and payed the lovely lady who runs the course the £5 fee and she told us to play as much as we like and help ourself to a trolly to save us carrying the clubs around as it was a long course. Very nice to talk to and very welcoming! The course was brilliant! Very good variety of holes and excellent lengths to play from a short par3 to a long par4 ranging from flat ground to steep hills and even some water hazards. I couldn't recommend the course highly enough for beginner and intermediate players. I would recommend taking a drink or two with you if you play on a hot day as there isn't a great deal of cover from the sun other than a few trees on the course.
