What a fabulous golf course which has been unaltered for 35 years . With standard scratch for men 68 and 72 for women, this provides a great test for all golfers over 18 holes. The terrain is undulating although not too physically demanding. Trees line many of the fairways with a delightful pond on the 17th. After 18 holes it was lovely to have homemade curry served with a ice cold Guinness from the very friendly clubhouse.

Well well well after playing this course in the autumn2009 this was a course I vowed never to return. However after hearing some good reviews of the course since the arrival of a new greenskeeper, I reluctantly gave it another try in the first week of April and was amazed at the transformation. beautifully manicured fairways with good definition and the greens were in great condition for the time of year however there were clear signs of work that was being done on some of the greens! A little off putting but obviously a necessity given my last experience. In short this friendly club would appear to be moving forward at a time others are standing still, enough said well worth a visit.

I was lucky enough to play on Friday and Sunday in February conditions. It was my first time at this course and I would reccommend to anyone with low and high handicaps. There were 4 temp greens which were very playable and the added bonus of significantly reduced green fees. The club is operated with friendly staff and very accommodating to non-members like myself. I will definately be returning and although the green fees may be back to normal I think it is well worth it at the price.

Regular visitors in the winter as the course seems to hold the wet conditions pretty well, and the winter price are reasonable - a serious consideration when having to pay for myself and two teenagers. Besides, I like the course, a good mixture of holes of varying difficulty without being impossibly difficult. Gave it our first visit for a while last Sunday having debated at length where to try first. I got my way. Rang up at 10.30am, they had a tee off time at 12.06pm. Just enough time to get round. 4 temp greens I was assured after specifically asking - fair enough, I don't object to sensible green preservation and these greens are generally good. But oh, soon to be disappointed. 12 temps and the feature par 3 closed completely; this was not as described on the packet. The course was wet and using temps was probably not unreasonable, but I was frankly well and truly hacked off. Effectively paid £28 under false pretences. We may well have decided to go somewhere else on the day knowing the true position, but we would have tried again another time. Now I'm not so sure. The repeated "told tou so - we should have gone to..." from the know alls on the way home just compounded the issue.

As a course which tests all departments of your game, West Bradford has a large variety of holes -some which test accuracy and some which test distance. I must comment on the extremely tricky greens, on which me and my companions struggled, and often made 3 putts. The long narrow fairways invite a real challenge - especially if using a driver. The greens, fairways and tees are kept in immaculate condition and the whole course in general is attractive and is obviously well groomed. The course was unusually empty for a Sunday and we did not have to rush in order to keep the group behind at bay. However, I must admit, it was the final day of The Open!

Excellent course in first class condition, we thouroughly enjoyed our day there and the hospitality shown to us. A fair test of golf for high and low handicap players.
