Nice course, with very good greens, although fairways not so good. We played off the back tee,s and it's a decent 6800 yards. But quite open, so not a stiff challenge, and for that reason we won't be returning. Very good value for £25 with a county card.

Last day of the Bavarian Father&Son's Golf Holidays in England 2010. M Pembos remark "quiet" made us chose this course, and we weren't disappointed. What a lovely course, what a great day out in the country yesterday! We used their online booking device to look up free tee times, reveived a friendly welcome on our arrival and payed 24 GBP greenfee each. Strokesaver, pull trolley and buggies available, unfortunately no motorized trolley. Having played some fine parkland courses with lots of trees around we were pleased by the open fairways here, yet nicely covered with smaller trees, bushes and lush grass in the rough. Most of the challenge lies in the undulation which must be called hilly on most of the holes. Down it goes from the start, up again and down and ... sometimes sideways along the hills. The open design is rather forgiving for wayward shots unless you meet the OOB or the especially narrow driving zone on the 12th - oops, with a hidden ditch across it! On the positive side were the nice & variable views and several lines of play which were to be chosen with care, on the negative we have to mention the slightly bumping greens and the raw "meadow" condition of the fairways i a few places. Alas, I deem the overall condition of the course to be good standard. Therefore, the pleasure prevailed and we enjoyed a quiet round on an almost empty course. After the game we rewarded ourselves with a nice burger & ale on the patio, with friendly staff and a great view to the course in bright sun - why not forget the itinerary and stay here forever?!?

Prior to playing this Sunday I felt the £30 was a bit steep for a course that the locals have said used to be a farmers field. Having played it I must say that it is a lovely course. Quite mature and full of interesting golf holes. Great failities and a freindly welcome. It is worth the £30 and I do intend to play here again.

Great course. If you want to play golf with no cars and noise near by then this is the place. Out in the middle of the country, Challenging mixture of holes. Golf range with grass and bunker for summer months and excellent cheap food in the clubhouse for afterwards. Good looking staff too !

have played this course regularly for twelve months. Winter and summer it has been well cared for. Although it is a challenging course, for a novice like me it makes you work to improve. It has very interesting scenery and in my opinion is one of the better courses in the area. The staff are also very helpful.

I played this course on Saturday, there had been an amount of rain in the last fortnight but it was a hot sunny day. What a pleasure, the greens did not look too good but played quick and true. The course is a challenge for the novice due to it's length and the camber on some of the fairways, but has a balance of risk and reward for the low handicapper, the greens on two par 4 are in danger to a long drive over trees and rough in one case and a small lake in the other. The eighteenth is a bit of a cow as it is a steeply uphill par 5 although this can be had in two with a 280 yard drive (uphill). I recommend this course to all, enjoy the rolling hills and farmers fields adjacent to the course.

Great course, well drained so good in the winter when we played, greens well kept but not too undulating. some attackable par 4s for the good player, and not to trying for the novice. A great day out
