I played this course on Friday 29/04/2005 in a society who play for a trophy in which its called the Welcombe Trophy. The people there were very friendly and acknowledged you when on the course. The chef was friendly and pleasant and the food was good. The course itself was tight (tree lined) and the greens were good the only 2 bad things were 1)alot of stones in the bunkers which surprised me because of the standard of the rest of the course 2)the green staff started to what was called treating the greens put a layer of sand with small bricks all over the first, second and third which disheartened us when playing in the afternoon. There after the day got better ,i would just like to add apart from the the 2 hiccups the course and the members made a fantastic day and im sure we will return in the near future.

First of all a big hello to all the members and staff of WHGC, it's been nearly 23 years since I last played as a member there and many fond memories of the old club and it's members, as for the course, if it's still in the same condition as in 82 well then it's still as brill as ever, is Mr mansell still playing and the poxon boys and give my kindest regards to that ever pleasant pro adrian. Wonderful to be able to be in touch on these new fangled wizzbang things, yours in ausie, richard Davidson. PS If anyone remembers an email wold be most welcome

Friendly and helpful staff. Good food and cheap beer. The course is one of the best I have played in the midlands.Tree lined, good turf, fast greens and holes that you remember.

Very tough, not very long but the tight tree lined fairways and uncompromising rough makes the round a real test. Superb conditions, never closes. A must play.

This has to rate as one of the best courses that I have ever played in this country. it is not the longest but most of the fairways are tree lined so you have to concentrate off the tee. The fairways are like walking on carpet and the greens are like velvet. and the sand in the many bunkers ( and you generally have a choice of which one to land in) is ideal. a course you really have to play.
