Woodenbridge is a gorgeous wee course tucked away in the Avoca Valley. This course is always quiet and for that reason it may well be Ireland's best kept secret! If you are ever in the Dublin area this course is a must play. Every hole is simply gorgeous and the quality of the course is up there with the best I have played. As is common in Ireland the staff are super friendly and so are the locals. Not only is the course layout top class but the setting is simply stunning. I grew up playing golf on the classic links courses in Scotland and I wouldn't usually lavish such praise on a woodland course but Woodenbridge simply blew me away. Don't come here expecting a full on corporate golf day like you get at more established club. If you come purely for the golf you will fall in love with this charming course and its modest facilities.
beautiful.thought somebody had hovered the course before i played it.wicklow is an extremely scenic part of the world and the course fits snugly in around it.the course is close to perfection.no hole is out of place.im jealous of anyone playing it for the first time. downside is there was no restaurant faciliteis available but hotel across road was very good
Can't understand why not any reports on this one...perhaps no-one knows it's there? Beautiful parkland course in tip-top condition. Lots of water in play and stray off the fairways and suffer! It all looks very innocuous, but the rough bites back in a big way. A good golfer, thinking his way around and keeping the ball in play would probably murder this course. However, the only single figure player in our party found this one the most difficult we played during the week. Another superbly appointed clubhouse with excellent hospitality. Go, find, enjoy!!
