Short but boy do you need to be accurate! Miss the fairway and you WILL be playing around trees. Greens are small too so second shots need to be spot on. I play off 3 and when I saw the length of the course I thought I'd blitz it but the first time round hit 7 over, 10 more than standard scratch. Second time round learned a few lessons and ended up with just 2 over so still did not play to my handicap but was pleased with my efforts. As the course is short 36 holes can be played in a day no problem and the staff in the clubhouse were superb. The course was in good condition with very true greens. A good test as well as being a great course for an outing

I have to disagree with the reviewer who said that this was a “A brilliant course to get your handicap down”. I played in a recent open and only 11 guys out of 162 beat the standard scratch. The best gross was a one under par 68 scored by a +1 handicapper so even he would have got a “point one” for that! Although short all of the holes have tree lined fairways so any errant tee shot can result is a hack-out. The greens are small too so your short game has to be spot on to save par. The course itself was in excellent nick although a couple of the greens had been damaged by the severe frost in the winter. However this did not detract from what was a very enjoyable round of golf, complete in under 4 hours which kept the wife happy! I would thoroughy recommend the course to anyone who want a good test of accuracy and finesse in beautiful surrounding and a very friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be back for the next open.

Looked at the card and thought "pitch and put" 74 shots later thought maybe not! I play off 2 so I thought that it would be a chance to shoot sub 60 for the first time in my life but soon found that with the small greens, narrow treelined fairways and some very cleverly placed bunkers that this was a good test of golf. The 16th in particular is a real card buster if you're not careful

Flat and trouble free, the only interesting aspect about this course is the small train which occassionaly cuts through different holes. A brilliant course to get your handicap down.
