The clubhouse was an excellent venue for a party of approximately 50(it would have held probably about 30 more comfortably). It has twinkling lights to add to the party atmosphere at night, the DJ they suggest is professional and obliging. The staff couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble and hot beef sandwiches 'hit the spot'. I had not seen the venue beforehand but was not disappointed . There was plenty of parking and guests said what great service . Compliments to them for down to earth practical help.

An excellent municipal course. Up and down hill, thick trees lining the fairways, blind drives and ringing bells to tell others the green is clear! The greens were is reasonable condition. Great VFM.

I have played this course 3 times over the past 5 or 6 months. It is far better in the summer but still reasonable over the winter months. There is a nice variety of holes here. Previous criticisms have been a lack of tee signage but I didn't find this much of a problem. Sometimes the signs are quite small and easy to miss, but if you look then its no problem. The greens have always been in good condition. Last time I played was on December 28th and it was very cold and had been wet, so I was happy to find that only the 18th hole was using a temporary green. Greens are fast and challenging but that isn't a criticism. I play different courses throughout the year on a monthly basis, and plan to go back to this one at least twice in 2009. At £18.50 the greenfee is mid range in terms of price, but you really do get value for money here, especially in summer. Off course, the driving range is very good, I use it regularly, also the pro shop has some good stuff in it.

Have been using the range here for a couple of years now and its very good. Had the chance to play the course the other day and as i live 25 miles away i rang first to make sure it was open. I was told yes "its just a bit icy" Beware!!! Greens were totally unplayable( unless you take an ice hockey puck). Paths can be treacherous and you will pay full price.Make sure you have some winter tees with you. I guess its a decent course to play in good weather.Could do with better tee signage.

A challanging course that is kept in very good condition. Dissapointing number of temporary greens at this time of year but is a joy through the summer months. Value for money and a very relaxed atmosphere. Some of the harder holes are the short par 3s with well place bunkers.

A superb course, without doubt the best in west yorkshire if not england. i play it on a regular basis and love nothing better than getting decked out in my full Donnay Attire and having a round (as long as its sunny). There is no dress code which suits me as i can wear my football boots to play in. Dave (black socks) Langley

I played this course several times last winter and on each occasion almost every hole was on temporary greens which put me off the course a bit. However, I returned today and can now understand why, this course could easily host international competitions! The fairways are immaculate and the greens are the best I have ever played on. I cannot believe this is a municipal course! Honestly, I cannot think of a better kept course anywhere in yorkshire.

Me and Kenny Hughes Absolutley loved playing on this course, fantastic! 8 holes were as dam near perfect as you could imagine on a privet course let alone a municipal, Kennys wife carol caddied for us and sold us snacks half way round the course, Shame Andy couldnt play - he was on the Balcony at the time enjoying the views, very good day out highly reccommended, Christian xx

My playing partner and I both found this to be an excelent course, that was both a challange to our golf abilities and fitness levels. Most holes have stunning views of the surrounding area, the course is well kept and worth the £16.50 green fees (weekend rate).

An excellent course in superb condition compares favourably with private courses, better than many. The recent free drops due to tree planting are now off making it a very tough, but fair test of golf. Re earlier comment about the back nine same number of par 3's, 4's, & 5's as front nine! Excellent!

who would have thought that such an oasis could be found between the m 62 and the leeds road. a great course played on a great day, thirteen of us from the old centralians golf society played on sat 12 july.a lovely course with some stunning holes .we WILL be back

recently played this course 16/01/03 and found it a good test of golf, with some very different holes only problem was 1st time i played it and wasnt sure where we were going and it resulted in us missing 2 holes out what a pity there where no NEXT TEE signs but overall well worth the 13.50 green fee

The plantations are now reaching a decent height which gives the holes on this 'muni' some much needed definition. Very well looked after especially around the clubhouse there are some nice landscaping touches. The course is a good mix of holes, though not to difficult off the yellows, and can be hard walking. The best hole by far is the 9th, the worst perhaps is the 2nd that has a small ugly lake that doesn't even come close to play. A fair course that's good value for money, as a municipal should be - 5/10

This is an excellent course which is well worth the money (£13.50 weekday). It is an extremely well kept course, and was a pleasure to play. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A testing course with excellent condition - our group really enjoy this as being a decent challenge - the grens can be fast when dry.

THE PRO`S WERE QUITE GRUMPY, BUT THE GOLF COURSE WAS IN EXTREMELY GOOD CONDITION CONSIDERING THE TIME OF YEAR I PLAYED IT. 21/2/01

For a municipal, the course is in excellent condition with lovely fairways and greens. The only downside is the fact that virtually every hole is either up or downhill. Overall a very enjoyable challenge well worth the money (nb. the price is now £12.50!!).

Front nine very good... Back nine, somewhat boring collection of very similar par 4s. Course in very good condition, planting new trees along some holes. On the hole v. good for the cash, but teh back 9 is nowhere near the quality of the front 9.

an excellent course to play, extremely good value for money, a shame the professionals are so grumpy .
