On arrival: nice sizable car park. Small putting area. Changing area and prp are functional but coukld do with modernising. The golf course in one of contrasts. Apart from the opening hole, the front nine is quite tedious...(largely flat parkland where the holes are laid out side by side) with some silly holes eg. A par 4 where you are not allowed to drive. However, the back 9 is totally different: the holes are interesting, there is undulation, fairways that become more interesting and the final 4 holes are excellently laid out and visually memorable. At £18 pounds it was ok, however, the greens were far too slow on the day we played. (they looked like they could be good but they were really slow on the day) Conclusion: if you manage to stay awake on the front nine, then you will love the back nine... Suggestion: ask the pro if you can play the back nine twice and avoid the fron nine all together!

Played it on 27 June and found the course in amazing condition. Members very friendly. Great holes 13 & 14. Greens immaculate. Highly recommended. Amazing value on a 2-4-1

Houldsworth has improved immesurably over the last few years, now boasting a challenging, flat parkland course, in great condition during the season, with undoubtably the best greens in the area. A fantastic clubhouse with a very friendly atmosphere completes a truly great course and club experience

Good flat parkland course. Numerous water hazards making seemingly easy holes most challenging. Excellent Par 5 13th Signature hole, go for it in "3" only if you must! Very smart clubhouse with friendly staff, reasonable prices and good selection of food, the Full Breakfast is a monster. Pro-Shop well stocked for all golfers essentials. I can definitely recommend this well kept course for all levels of golfers.
