This course is an inch away from being a fantastic course. When driving up the road between the 1st and 2nd to get the club house you may get the impression that the course is a little up and down. Don't let fool you. Every hole is very different and a fantastic test of your game. Very good mix of long and short par 4s, tough par 3s over water and some par 5s with very narrow greens. i am a 4 handicapper and had to play well to shoot my handicap. However the grass on the fairways was too long and the greens very very slow. If only they lowered the mower by an inch this course would be one of the best in devon. However good value and very friendly.
I played here recently whilst on a short city break to Exeter. I was not happy with my day there. The greens were in poor condition, the fairways didn't look like they've seen a mower for weeks. I'm sure this could be a good course, its a good layout but its condition left a lot to be desired.
I'm was very impressed with this comparatively young course, the holes are interesting, challenging and a friendly atmostphere awaits in the clubhouse. Easiliy worth £20 (2008) of anyone's money.
played on a weekday very cheap at £20 a good challenge of a low handicapper found the greens very hard to stop the ball on the staff where very nice. The course was very good condition especially liked the 3rd.
Libbaton is a challenging and long courses. With a mixture of water hazards, trees, hedges and bunkers it can make it very tricky! It is a Par 73 and my best round is 84. The clubhaouse serves really nice food and the shop is owned by professional clubmakers. Another good thing is that it is cheap to play there. The greens and fairway are brilliant quality and when the young trees have had a chance to grow it will be a very challenging golf course.
Maturing nicely, unusual set up where you can stay on the course in peoples homes who live on the course. I especially like it because I won the South West Artisan Championship there in 2000, It's a par 73, I hit 77 off 11.
