Played for a second year running in their Seniors open on 1st July. In my opinion this is a truly wonderful course, great layout, wonderful variety of holes and large challenging greens. They were a bit slow; this was possibly down to the recent dry spell, and the desire to protect them from a too shorter cut. But the contours on many of them are a real test of skill, especially the 16th with a valley running across it. A course planner is well worth the money, and will serve you well when you return, which you must surely do. One criticism, since last year they seemed to have cut much steeper faces into almost all the bunkers, even the fairway ones, and I think this has added a too higher penalty factor to what is already a difficult course. Just a few more signs pointing the direction to the next tee would help the first time visitor together with more obvious 150 yard markers. Lovely clubhouse and well appointed changing rooms that complement the whole experience, well worth a visit

Played here April 09. Highly regarded in the area but it didn't leave much of an impression on me. With it's meandering layout the course seems to go on forever.By the end of the round i'd felt as if i'd played about 22 holes. Overall ,i felt it had a slightly drab feel to it & it was a bit scruffy in places.Greens were bobbly on visit & very slopey ( don't expect any straight putts here ). There's a good clubhouse & the club was very welcoming but for the standard £45 green fee i wouldn't recommend it & couldn't be bothered to play it again . Kevin B.

Have played this course twice in the last 14 days, once with a member and then in an open tournament. For me, this has to be one of the best courses anywhere in this region, better than The Belfry, Woburn, John ‘o Gaunt etc. Every hole presents a different problem and it must take some years for new members to come to grips with the tremendous greens that offer such variety of pin positions. But don’t be put off, thinking this is a course for single figure guys only, this is a course that can be enjoyed off the yellow tees by a mid handicap golfer and offers a true challenge. I struggle to find criticism of anything, perhaps the 150 yard markers could be a little more obvious, but this is a pet complaint of mine when playing a strange course. The clubhouse, bars and changing rooms are all of a high standard, and the members very friendly.
