Rudding Park is a gorgeous golf course that has made use of the natural lay of the land rather than 'manufacture' something that is totally man made. I have played before and wasnt expecting it to be a lot better than it was the first time around. However the condition of the course has been taken to new heights. The tees and fairways are some of the best I have ever played on. Staff in the hotel are all extremely friendly and our stay was very enjoyable. A great addition is the short course of six new par 3's that is part of a new 'golf in 1 hour' innitiative. This little track is definately worth a go around and even has a replica of the 17th at Sawgrass! There are also plenty of other activities to keep you entertained off the golf course such as quad biking, which I would recommend! All in all great value for money and very good golf courses.

Played 36 holes over two days, after playing Forrest Pines earlier in the week I was expecting it could not have been beaten.Rudding golf staff very friendly,Clubhouse cosy with good food and shop staff imformative. I was not expecting the greens to be in the greatest condition ,however the growth look good and they ran true and fast.Fairways are wide but the greenstaff have been clever and the definition to the green is fantastic. Pitch mark repairer given to all that played ,this is working as we did not have to repair many on the course.Speed of play 4hrs good to say we played on the weekend. Would we go back? Yes ,but this time on the sunday offer as the Hotel is very nice ,nice treat for the wife.

Aptly described by one of my playing partners as a "hotel golf course": wide open fairways with few hazards so that even the hackiest hacker can feel like he can play the game. Corresponding downside is that I was repairing 3 or 4 pitchmarks on every green, the greens being the worst I've played on for this price level. It is a very long course, which is where the test comes in for the higher handicap golfer: you need a really good driveto get to the dog-leg on some of the par 4s. But generally an average course. The hotel is nice though.

Update on last report. Rudding provides a much improving test of golf. New bunkers have been added, notably on the 7th. Large amounts of drainage works have gone in, particularly on the 14th which is the signature hole. I suspect that this will be replaced by the waste of time short hole, but hopefully much later in the season. At the same time a 6 hole? par three is well in progress with what looks like a Sawgrass style final hole, and apparently a further 9 hole loop will be added together with a new club house. All in a pretty fair club for the money. Only downside is the all too often confusion regarding tee times, typically related to introducing hotel guests, paying punters and club members into the same schedule.

Played early Feb 06. Damp but not waterlogged and no temp greens or tees. A course that is well worth the £20 mid week rate. Plenty of long holes, water and a few bunkers. the latter appear to be being increased and one or two were having remodeling as I played. Good driving range and general facilities. Plans afoot to upgrade and add a second course.

well worth a visit whether you stay overnight in the very well equipped hotel or not. Played here the day after Slaley Hall and thought Rudding far superior. The only gripe was the cost of drinks in the hotel. Greens very tricky, lots of subtle borrows that were not obvious even from 8 inches!!

April 05, Very nice course, played using a 241 voucher. At this time of year the ground conditions were still very damp and easy for a good shot to plug and be lost. Never the less an interesting course, with a good lay out. Take care with the 150 yard markers as our group all thought that they were more like 150 metres (hence 165 yards). Planty of holes to use the driver on and still requiring a long second shot to reach the green. Would perhaps wait until a little later in the year for better ground conditions.

played rudding park on 16th august 2004, the condition of the course was good considering the weather we had the previous 2 weeks. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome by all the staff & the food could not be faulted, we are now hoping to book our weekend away there next year. Well done rudding park looking forward to next year already.

Impressive maturing course and hotel complex. Set in mature attractive parkland teeming with wildlife. Typically of a resort course there is plenty of room off the tees, but the course is long enough to offset this. Some nice, well designed holes with very few bunkers (I believe because of the conservation issues) but good shaping of the greens and surrounds more than makes up for this. The course makes very good use of water hazards. Thoroughly enjoyable golf at a decent price but can be a bit of a hike - 8/10

Excellent parkland course. Very well thought out and in superb condition. On the TGN two for one deal and great value for it.

Friendly staff and great value meant we enjoyed a splendid days golf at Rudding park. The course is kept in excellent condition - we were told it was wet the day we played - you should come and play in Wales!!! Top tip - buy the course guide.

Constantly improving as the course develops with maturity. Set in a beautiful parkland it is very picturesque, is slightly long but plays well

This maturing course set in beautiful, rolling parkland really has many attributes. The course is fast and tidy, and certainly challenges the most capable of players. The surroundings are kept in beautiful condition by the 'Rudding' team of keepers. Hold ups are unlikely, allowing the most perfect round of golf. Its comfortable club house, friendly and willing staff, and 'bistro' style food compliment the 'Rudding' atmosphere and experience - well known to many around Yorkshire.
