Recently played this course which I had played several years back. Huge difference, greens smaller but in excellent condition, fairways quite lush and much tighter than before. Generally much improved course and far more of a challenge that on the last visit. Good reception and atmosphere I will definitely return.

Played the course today,a pleasant little track uncomplicated and well looked after.Quite forgiving on some bad tee shots ,a few decent par 3s...the greens were very good pretty quick and not bobbly ...big hitters best use the white tees as most tee shots can be rescue or 3 wood off the yellows ...but dont let me put you off ...

We played this course as a group of 20 last Sunday and were made very welcome indeed by both the Reception and a Committee member who came up especially to welcome us to the course. After a short discussion, we were offered and were pleased to accept the use of the white tees which made for a much greater challenge than some of the the yellows, particularly on the 1st. The greens are very good indeed and very consistent despite the course having been saturated in the very recent wet weather and closed for six days in a row. The bunkers were also very good and well designed and positioned. The overall impression is that the course will become rather more difficult when the trees reach greater maturity - at the moment on a number of holes, a misdirected shot is not punished severely. However, although we had a few 35 pointers, there were no startingly good scores and concentration on the greens is certainly a prerequisite. We ordered sandwiches for the end of the game and these were good and served in a timely manner. An enjoyable experience.

Another of the new courses that appeared to crop up around ten years ago, Stratford Oaks actually has a bit more of a members club feel to it though. Everyone we spoke to was welcoming and the clubhouse, bar, locker rooms and restaurant are all of a high standard. There's even a driving range here. The signature holes here are the 1st (do not be left off the tee!) and the 5th, which has a large lake in front of the green. There are also a couple of tricky par 3's on the back 9 and the 17th, which has been extended recently, is a real monster long par 4 off the back tees. The course is well presented and is maturing nicely. The greens aren't that quick though, but they are fair. Once you have judged the pace you will be OK as they are fairly consistant. All in all, very enjoyable and we shall certainly return soon.

An improving course and certainly no pushover if you're not down the middle. The 1st and 17th holes are is the process of being extended. Relatively flat with water in play on 5th, 10th & 18th. The two 'shorter' par fives are a fraction under 500 yards so are two very good strikes even if you're a big hitter. Make your score on the front nine as the 10th, 11th & 15th can cost you. Decent clubhouse, excellent driving range / practise area & good golfers menu at the 19th.

It is not the best course I have played but far from the worse. The new club house is very nice with a good selection of beers and food. The course has not got enough holes that will want you to come back again and again. I liked holes 2 and 18 but they are about as hard as they get. Some of the par 3's are long but with no hazzards, on two of the par 5's I hit driver and a 5 iron and was safely on the green. I will however say that the greens we very good and fast but or me this course could be so much better. if this cousre was a school report it would say "Could do Better"

Played here last week in a small society, greens were some of the best i've ever played. the course is perhaps a little immature, a bit open and easy going. very enjoyable none-the-less. food and hospitality was fabulous.

A very decent course and good facilities. Recent investments in fairway\r\n drainage, new club house and pro shop make it well worth playing if you\r\n are a tad tired of the Bard and his works.
