1 review of The Royal Belfast Golf Club

This is a very beautiful and well maintained club with a long history in Belfast. It features a very nicely undulating course with terrific views of Loch Belfast, combined with a woodlands that rivals Sherwood Forest. At any minute I expected Robin Hood or some of the merry men to ride out on the course. They won't save you from the bunkering though. The Royal Belfast features the best bunkered course I've yet seen in a parkland track in Ireland, combined with delightful greens of some speed. Most of all, this is a highly "playable" course that all can enjoy. No caddies, and they're not really needed as it's a pretty easy walk, or they will be happy to get you a cart. Service is first-class in every way, and this course would be much more highly regarded amongst visitors if it weren't so exclusive and hard to get on. It is constantly maintained in perfect condition and receives very little play relative to most other top courses in Ulster. Tip: Stay at the Culloden and have Cathy Scott or Gavin arrange your times. You won't need a letter of introduction or anything but their help and it's walking distance from the hotel.
