Played Andover Golf club for the first time on the 19th March 2010 as part of our golf society calender. the weather was not at its best with drizle, fog and finally heavy rain to finish, however this did not dampen (see what i did there?) our enjoyment of which is a unique test of golf. With several greens used twice in the round and each having two flags to seperate the front and back nine the club make very good use of the space at there disposal. But for the visitor, the greatest asset of this club is it's officers and members who were all intent on making sure we enjoyed the club of which they were obviously very proud. There was an issue in the facilities which i won't go into but the club made sure that this did not become the abiding memory for us all. the were keen to make up for the issue by inviting us back again at a discount but when we declined the offer because of other commitments to the sporting year they insisted on buying te wine and beers for the 24 o us before dinner. The evening meal was of the highest standard served by a very friendly waiting staff backed up by the chef who ensured we were all fed well. later in the evening the members were keen to listen in on our presentations and kept a respectfull silence whilst the formalities took place. I hope the senior members of Andover G.C get to review my comments and appreciate the great work the staff and members do without recognition. I recommend that this fabulous club be on your list of those to visit when in Hampshire.

I found this course in excellent condition. The course is on a chalk hill and the greens are firm and fast yet hold a well struck ball. The members were friendly and food, though simple, was good value for money. Don't be put off by the 'only a nine hole course' tag as it is a well established layout. The par three 9th (also the 17th) is a tough 200yd down hill test. The members told me the course has been there almost 100 years and the council are trying to build on it. Seems criminal to me!

after playing this course i have become very disapointed at the way the members treat outsiders and i dont enjoy the greenkeeper running over my ball with his lawnmower and laughing.
