Aylesbury Park I think offers good value for money without being particularly challenging. I think for a mid-high handicapper it will test all facets of your game with a nice variation of holes, though none particularly stick in your mind after. Par 3's are the best holes with probably the 8th and 15th being the nicest. I would say though with some TLC and some toughening up of the course some fairways are simply too generous, which doesnt offer a great deal of challenge for a lower handicap player, and flattening out of the tees it really would be a very nice course. If the fairways were 10 yards thinner with some nice big trees in there I think it would be a real improvement. Fairways and greens are generally acceptable, greens a little slow and gentle contours rather then sweeping. However, for someone starting out you will improve because of the variation of shots needed on the course and you will struggle to have 'nightmares' as there are few hazards. And given the price in the area I think its very good value.

I have been playing this course now for 4 years. Over the last two the greens have been improved significantly and they are now consistently good all the way round. You therefore have a chance to sink long putts by reading the sweeping contours well. The opening hole is one of the hardest I know in the area, and the par 3s are deceptively tough, especially the 15th. At a lot of the par 4s you are encouraged to open your shoulders and have a go, while at the same time there are 3 or 4 par fours that are a tough challenge to reach in 2, especially the 460yd 4th – don’t try to cut the corner. The par 5s are short and birdyable by long hitters. This course is excellent value for money and accessible, which is good for Mid- and North Bucks, as it has relatively few golf courses. On the last Saturday I played, it was July and the course was fully loaded. It took 3 3/4 hours in a 3-ball without being let through (no need), so good progress is kept up. While this course is not spectacular and the clubhouse is basic, the members are friendly, the course provides a good game of golf and you want to return.

too many players crammed on, as it is a pay and play there is very little in the way of golf manners.... it took over 4 hours for a 2 ball. That said it had some cracking par 3's, worth the money but only when its quiet.

Played here as a society at the end of the long dry summer of 2003. That said the tees and the greens in particular were in very good condition. This is an ideal society course allowing all level of golfers to play to their handicap or better. There are six par threes and a couple of long par fours, it cant be described as a challenging course but it is not a dangerous course, the shout of “four” was not heard all day. There is plenty of space and good use has been made of land, it is completely flat so it’s ideal older golfers and any one wishing to carry. The young staff are keen and very pleasant, catering is basic but wholesome, the bacon rolls can be recommended, the whole clubhouse is non-smoking!

the 9 hole course is a pleasure all par three's ideal for the novice and challanging enough for the experiance golfer to keep to par. Very friendly club with a nice water hazard on the 7th to test the nerve.

The 9 hole pitch and putt is now open (Longest hole is around 90 yards, and the shortest is around 60 yards) and makes excellent practice for your short game. The main 18 hole course now has water and bunkers. You will find water to the left of the green on the par 3 2nd and 8th holes. Bunkers can be found now on the 5th, 6th and 7th holes. There are also ditches/steams on the 1st, 9th, 11th, 14th, 17th and 18th. Most fairways are forgiving with a wide second cut, but the rough is quite high during the summer and not so forgiving! Nice course with a par 70.

Bunkers were constructed in October 2001
