Played this course on Friday before the Bank Holiday. What a wonderful course/club. From the moment we arrived the service was A1. The pro shop made us very welcome and arranged a very good deal for our fourball. The food in the clubhouse was really tasty and helped us to get ready for our round. The course was absolutely supurb, even though it had been raining consistently prior to our arrival. The train abated while we played our round, making it the more enjoyable. The greens were very tricky but very true and it was a pleasure to putt on them. My favourite hole was a little par 3 where you played your shot between trees to a green that was two tiered with a wonderful background. This course is a little gem and I would definitely play here again if I was in the region.
have played every now and then ,really demanding course , especially when wind is up, but , snobbish , better than thou attitudes of some members, ruin , which is otherwise a good days golf.It is ment to be fun and enjoyable , or have i got that wrong ?
Greenfees are up to £35 weekdays, but for the chance to play one of the best courses in Lanarkshire this is still a small price to pay. Although the weather tried to play havoc with the day out, the course was in imaculate condition, greens were pristine and a credit to the green-keepers. A must for anyone wanting an enjoyable game, and a testing one if the wind is blowing!!
Played on a lovely sunny Friday morning with little wind. The greens were large and fast - as good putting surfaces as you would care to play on. EVERY bunker on the course had been raked - now when did you last see that happen? The tee areas were immaculately kept - this is a course where they pay attention to little things like keeping grass cut low and often!! Apart from the rough, of course which is tough if you stray from generously wide fairways - as it should be. Bar meals were VERY reasonably priced - you will LOVE IT when you play this course; it is a GENUINE hidden Scottish golf treasure, believe me.
Played course for first time and was instantly impressed. Overall layout and condition is superb, design is fantastic as was reception from both staff and members. Course was very rewarding for good shots and penalised for inaccurate shots, but thats golf. Rough very thick and long in places, but you shouldn't be there. Course condition was immaculate with large flat tee's, firm well manicured fairways with plenty of definition. Large greens which run true and at a great pace (I'm used to fast green's so beware). Overall, a great test of golf and well worth the visit.
Excellent greens and tees, otherwise a nightmare experience.Beware of the jungle if you venture a couple of feet of the fairway. Punished severely if you dare stray of course. Not impressed with the knee length rough throughout. Very snobish club. Members seem to think that they and their course are better than most others infact some made comparisons with Lanark and St. Andrews And Gleneagles!!!!!
Excellent semi-parkland semi-links course. Both tee and greens are immaculate. Greens are pretty fast however putts always hold there line. Warning: stay on the fairway!!!!!!! Gorse and heavy rough either side of the fairways.
excellent course, difficult, very fair. Greens are large, undulating and very good.
