Day one of our tour of Lincolnshire, a short drive up the A1 to Torskey and played early afternoon. Very nice welcome from the pro shop and coffee in the clubhouse and we were off. This is a flat, tight course, but by no means boring, several holes do play up and back, but one is never really aware of this as trees provide an excellent barrier between fairways. The greens were very nice, and unlike many of the coursers at home the fairways had good covering of grass. The members we met on the course and afterwards in the bar were friendly, all four of us enjoyed it, agreeing it was an ideal course to start the week, nice easy walking after a couple of hours in the car. One small criticism, and one I am often fond of raising is an improvement in signs from green to the next tee would help speed up play for visitors.

I played Torksey with two friends in September 2009. Everything about the place is fantastic. Received a warm welcome from the pro shop, food and real ale were also spot on! The most important bit was obviously the course and I have to say that you won't find a much better set up anywhere in the UK. Not the longest by any means, there are plenty of shortish risk and reward par 4s...just make sure you hit it straight! The greens were in perfect condition, true and fast (although the head green keeper suggested they were slightly slower than usual)! If your serious about your golf, head over to this little gem for a great course that rewards straight drives and good putting.

Played 16/11/07. This what you call a great course and talk about value for money. It was £35 with bacon roll and drink before, golf and then a 2 course dinner after and the food was excellent. Now the course. All you have to say about Torksey is BRILLIANT. The course is tight but manageable and just the right length. The greens were in great nick and are better than some ive played in the summer, in fact you will find no better anywhere. Teeing areas nice and tidy, fairways also spot on. Pro shop made you feel welcome, as did the people in the clubhouse and after, the food was just what you needed after a round of golf in the cold and wind. Mind you it would have been ok after a round in the middle of summer, good old home cooking. There isnt a bad word to say about the place. There were 12 who played and not 1 complaint about anything, that says it all.

Played the course as part of a society, very impressed with the course layout and condition. Made to feel welcome by the members and staff, catering being a little expensive is the only drawback to a great day out. Can't wait to play it again next year, although we may sneak back as part of a fourball.

Played Torksey a number of times now. The groundstaff do a brilliant job and the course is always in good nick. The first seven holes, are good, but are there to break you in, because it only gets harder. One of the best inland courses in Lincolnshire.
