1 review of Pula Golf Club
Being a European Tour venue I was fairly excited about playing Pula (not least as I would have imagined the cost would equate to an experience), however, I left slightly disappointed. First problem was the entrance where a multitude of signs confused us and we ended up in the wrong car-park about 150 yards away from the office. The course itself wasn't hugely inspiring. A good first hole, followed by an average par 3 and then a couple of mundane par 4s. In all honesty, few of the holes are particularly memorable until the downhill, dog-leg 16th and then the uphill dog-leg 17th. I guess the biggest diappointment for a course of this expense was the condition of the greens. Not particularly fast and a bit bumpy. Also, the general surroundings (paths, around the greens, some of the fairways) were pretty scruffy and the main-road does make its presence felt. A further problem we encountered was being stuck behind two German four-balls (I'm not a snob but wearing jeans and trainers!) who until we had a heated discussion refused to let our two-ball go through. The course-marshall was visible but oblivious. Overall, not bad but could easily be significantly better. I would definitely recommened near-neighbours Canyamel and Capdepera in preference to Pula.
