Played this in a Group outing with 31 other golfers. The layout of the course is very hilly- hard work walking round. The carts are ridiculously over-priced and the officious professional needs to learn some basic customer relations skills. The secretary was very helpful. The course was in decent enough condition given the weather but on some fairways there was more GUR than fairway. The views to Stirling castle are stunning. Of 31 golfers most were unimpressed by the actual course layout with hole #15 resembling "cartoon" golf.
I have played this course a number of times and I have been impressed each time. A stern test, especially with recent subtle changes. Views to die for, especially on the 16th tee. The 18th is a fantastic par 5 finishing hole. Well worth paying a visit.
This is a really enjoyable course - I played on a warm windless day -imagine it will be difficult in windy conditions ! Some really fabulous holes with great views I particularly liked the 9th and 18th The greens were a bit slow but this may have been due to the very heavy rain the day before A very good day out indeed
