At £60 + for a round this certainly isn't value for money.Greens were average, and it's a very open course. Best hole is probably the 2nd, which makes you think it's going to be a better course than it turns out to be. Only 2 par 5s, and they aren't too difficult. There are many better and less expensive courses in the area to play. Not highly recommended.

I arrived here for the first time in a charity event back in mid-May. For me, this parkland course is somewhat schizophrenic: there are both some appealing holes and also some less stimulating ones – primarily the ones on the flatter ground. The back nine is more secluded and generally plays over more undulating terrain. The nicest stretch is straight after the turn, which includes a very cute – but typically deceptive in Colt terms – par 3 at 12, that measures in at just 135yds from the back tees. However the front two bunkers foreshorten significantly – don’t be fooled. I also really liked the framing of the drive at the par 5 13th, which, all too briefly, evokes feelings of heathland. The front nine generally feels more open, although the second is a cracking par 4 with a forced carry over a depression area for your second shot. On the upside, this is a club that prides itself in the playability of its course for golfers of all standards, so you'd have to be seriously off your game to get beaten up round here. On the downside, the persistent take-off of light aircraft from the adjacent airfield at a rate of about one every three minutes did eventually go from being a novelty to an annoyance. Overall, at the risk of lapsing into cliche mode, for me it falls into the category of one to tick off the list but wouldn't be desperately concerned about returning to. I also hesitate to say this, with it being Donald Steel's home club, but although it’s nice enough, Colt's finest creation it is not. 6.5/10 'Young P' (h/c 12) NB Am not rating VFM as I wasn't paying!

I am amazed this place does not have any comments,it is quite simply a gem,and only 17 miles from Marble Arch,it even has its own station. Firmly entrenched in the last century Denham will do things the way Denham wants to do them, bar times and meals are a little difficult but the whole experience is worth it.The course is playable and always in magnificent condition, each hole is diferent, one skirts the very busy airfield next door. One of the best courses in the country let alone Buckinghamshire
