What an absolutely beautiful golf course !! Great tees, fairways and greens with stunning 360 degree views of Bakewell and surrounding rural Derbyshire, what more can one ask for ??. Only 9 holes, but with two intelligent, differently positioned tees to play from it is certainly an experience to play this course. Every hole is totally different and moderately challenging, but fair, a true test of golf but not excessively difficult, thus having played the front 9, you know what to expect on the back 9. Built on the hillside, wind is a factor and can punish wayward shots, therefore ensure you have a GOOD supply of golf balls !! We played yesterday in pleasant weather and initially we felt it was tough, but it was certainly an experience I would not have missed and look forwad to playing Bakewell again shortly. The clubhouse is small and friendly as were all the members and staff, a great day out followed by the obligatory few pints and a good meal.

My friend and I fitted in 9 holes here whilst on a weekend break with our wives. A Competition was just finishing as we arrived, and we were welcomed in the Clubhouse by the Captain, who kindly welcomed us to the club, explained the course layout and directed us to the first tee. The course weaves around the hills above Bakewell, with several undulating and sloping fairways, and lovely views across the valley. The greens couldn’t have been in better condition, and the setting is lovely. Local knowledge would come in very handy here, as ball placement is key. It was damp when we played, and there was some rain during our round, so we could imagine it being a test of a different kind in the summer months. Unfortunately, we didn’t play the best golf of our lives, but we thoroughly enjoyed our round and are planning to go back next spring.

A lovely course which winds it's way around the club house. there is a lot of hills to cover in a relatively small area of land! The course has been laid out very well to make the most of a relatively small footprint of land. I very much enjoyed my round here and would be delighted to play again!
