we played carlisle golf course on wed 25th june. the day got off to a sour start when we went to pay our green fees. when i booked the tee time 3 weeks in advance, i was informed on the phone i could use a 2 fore 1 voucher, reducing the price to £20 per person. unfortunatley when we asked about this we were told 2 fore 1's were only accepted on mondays!!! the pro in the shop made no effort to rectify this or even offer us some sort of deal so this WILL be effecting my final scores. now to the course. it is a very scenic course with some well designed holes. the par 3's are all quite challenging in there own way and you have to make sure you take the right club or your sure to end up in one of the many hazards surrounding the greens. the fairways are wide and the rough was not to punishing. its a very well kept and manicured course and the greens were very good so top marks to the greenkeeping staff! for the money we paid i wouldnt rush back to play the course again but if i won a free 4 ball i would certainly return and hopefully the weather would be better also! it LASHED down!!!!!!!!

a very well desighned course, not to long or hard on the legs .A course that makes you think about each and every shot. Some excellent but tricky par 3's, well worth a visit. P.S.The nineteenth is also very pleasing.

Very nicely manicured course-if a little longer could've possibly had British Open aspirations.\r\nI was a member of this course from the late seventies to the mid-eighties and often enjoyed a leisurely afternoon round.\r\nIf visiting this course from USA, will see similarities to The Country Club in Brookline Mass. or even Cog Hill near Chicago.
