I was a member 30 years ago and it was not an easy course then when it was relatively new, it has now matured into a very demanding golf course in excellent condition. Very friendly membership notorious for their hospitality.

I play here as regular as possible during the summer months the course provides a challenge to all standards of golfer and is kept in excellent condition throughout the year. Probably the best condition course i have played this year. The clubhouse facilities are excellent with a fantastic view over both the first tee and the final approach to the 18th.

Played again after a couple of years, Course and particularly Greens in fantastic condition considering we have just had the worst winter in 30 years, well worth playing.

I played Great Barr for the first time on Thursday and was impressed beyond belief. It's a stunning course with some very interesting holes. The first is a dogleg par 5, which I nearly birdied, moving on to very well guarded par 3. The fairways, greens and even the rough were cut to perfection. A shot into the trees is not always a disaster as you'll often get a good lie in the short cut rough underneath. The sand in the bunkers is soft enough not to clog up in the wet. I liked the 'S' shaped downhil par 5 7th. I was so close to making the green in 2 after a belting drive. On the par 3 14th we were treated to the sight of a fishing heron on the carp pond to the left hand side. The 18th is a long par 3 with a brook catching any short tee shots. A lovely course, certainly one of the best in the Midlands.

Played this course last week and it poor considering the reports i have read on this website, the greens were slow and uneven and the course looked scruffy, the 17th is the best hole on the course by a mile

This was one of the best courses i have ever played on. I was really impressed by the condition of the course, this course is very challenging and shooting level with your handicap is an achievement. I was so impressed that i am hoping to become a member in the near future. My favourite hole is the 14th, it is a short par 3 with water on the left and a bunker on the right. For all the golfers who like a testing round of golf but a thoroughly enjoyable day then play this course

I have played this course several times, as my good friend is a long-term member. The course is always in great condition. Course knowledge is needed, as allot of hole can lead to trouble if you are a little wayward. The greens are like lightening; you certainly cannot attack the green come rain or shine. Beware a real testing course but very nice.

A GREAT PARKLAND COURSE. GREENS ARE SUPERB. THE COURSE IS FAIR, BUT PUNISHES INACCURATE TEE SHOTS. THE 17TH & 18TH PROVIDES A PARTICULARLY TESTING FINISH. A LOT OF WORK WAS BEING DONE ON THE COURSE, BUT IN NO WAY DETRACTS FROM THE QUALITY OF THE COURSE.
