Played the course early September 09 in preparation for the SSGA Seniors Event. Course was immaculate - no bad lies on fairways, greens and approaches as good as anything all year. I read previous players reports before playing and now wonder where the so called "tree flanked fairways" are? Fairways are generous and quite wide by any courses standards. This is a course that golfers of any level will love. Not too long plus a few interesting greens. Welcome and hospitality cannot be beaten. A MUST PLAY. Harry
Played this course with a friend on 17th October. Course was in absolutely fantastic condition, pristine fairways and challenging greens with fantastic roll. Staff at the club, were friendly and helpfull. For £25 a round it is exceptionally good value. Remember if you want championship courses and challenges you have to pay championship rates Will certainly be back
Played this course on 26 th May,this is a very well kept course with literally every fairway flanked by trees. The fairways and greens were in great condition ,the greens being the more demanding part of the course.Look out for some lovely holes the 6th,8th and particularly the 15th. A good course for any handicapper ,not too long and not too demanding. £35 for the day package per person was great value.
Played this course on return to Edinburgh on July 6th 2005 after some thirty years and boy has it changed. Some very interesting holes, good greens and excellent bar facilities. All in all a good experience.
Hello , I was also a member of Haddington Golf Club and a friend of Colin Young. I have lost contact with him and would like to get in back in touch with him. My email is [email protected] Keep up the good work Regards David
Have read previous comments with interest. Played last month (end of February). Main impression was that the course is boring - nearly every hole completely straight with few features of interest and none of the awesome views offered by other better courses in the area. Worst of all, we had to play off these lousy plastic mats, which took some getting used to. To be fair, we were warned of this at the time of booking. On the positive side, the greens were good. The soup and sandwiches lunch was very simple but fresh and plenty of it for a fiver. Worth a visit when playing with some less regular golfers, or as a warm up for the more challenging and interesting courses nearby.
I read the comments made by G Johnson (24.5.2001)having paida deposit for myself and 9 others to play the course and have their 3 course lunch for £5.50! Needless to say I didn't tell my party about the comments I had read. We arrived and were made very welcome by the stewardess, even though we were late. The food was good, with a choice of four main courses. Although not cordon bleu, it was extremely good value. The course itself was in very good condition, none of the greens were patchy and the fairways (particularly the 10th) were green and cut short. Overall a good course, especially if like us you are on a budget. (Try 9 holes at Castle Park, just up the road on the same day).
Haddington offered a pleasant round of golf to our party of eight at the beginning of our tour. It is an undulating course with some stiff par fours. Excellent value for money, good greens and a welcoming atmosphere in the clubhouse ensured that our holiday got off to a great start.
