I stayed at the hotel last September for 3 days with a group of 8 of us. I have to admit, after the worst summer in living memory, the coures was more than playable, though a little wet under foot!! I couldn't fault the course under such difficult circumstances and found it very challenging and varied. I felt that with better weather the course could be one of the best around. The hotel and staff were tremendous. Their friendly approach and hospitality was second to none. All the staff were polite. Due to the horrendous summer and subsequent cancelletions the complex was a little quiet, however, it didn't dampen our 3 days of golf!! The rooms were basic and clean, (what do you expect for golfers)!!?? Finally, the home cooked food was fabulous with loads of it!! All in all i couldn't fault the place and look forward to going again in April 13. P.S The best value for money ever.
8 of us came here last weekend in april can safely say everyone had a fantastic weekend the staff were really friendly food was superb had 4 rounds of golf some of the greens wer poor good layout some really nice holes only 5 min taxi to port patrick some good pubs all n all a great weekend exelent value.
Just come back after 5 days golf at lagganmore and have had a graet time, the course is a great challange to golfers of all levels and the warm welcome and the great food could not be better.Looking forward to next visit.
Its been 2yrs since we were at Lagganmore 2008 the last time and we were rained off, course was like a swimming pool. But having played there the year before we know how good the course is so just put it down to bad luck. But on the bright side the hospitality you get and the food you get are the very best (especially the steak n ale pie)and could not ask for more.I have just sent Stephen an email so we can get booked up for July 2011.A night in Portpatrick or a night in Stranraer goes down ok.You only have to read the reviews (apart from one sado)to see what its like. The hospitality, food, course and lastly the cost are absolutely fantastic and we cannot wait to go there in July 2011.
we as a golf club have visited lagganmore every year for the past 6 years and have found the golf packages great the food is fantastic the accomodation very good beer and whisky smashing the welcome and frendliness of steve family and staff really is great we are all going up again in june for the week would not miss it for anything.the course plays like 2 seperate 9 holes the front9 being very open but has many difficult holes the back 9 much more hilly with some really magnificent holes

Been going to Lagganmore twice a year for about nine years now. Just feels like going home. Evenyone so friendly food excellent and accommodation good. Love the course and have met and made some fantastic friends there over the years. Thanks to Stephen, Linda and family for their fab hospitality - hope to continue to come for many years yet. we go every year when the british open is on and have done so for the past 5 years. The staff are brilliant and the food is 5 star. Accomadation is decent and ideal for what we want to use it for. Hospitality is always there and Steve, Jenny and the rest are always helpful and pleasant. Been robbed the last two years due to the weather but no one to blame there. The course is challenging but not too demanding, this is ideal as we generally are up all hours taking advantage of the late bar facilities. For value for money it is first class and the package we get is good and it does not seem to race up every year. Portpatrick is a lovely town to visit on a night for a few beers and Dave the taxi driver and general Portpatrick Mr Fix-it is a top bloke as well. Love the place would like to but uit if I ever win the lottery.
stayed with a group end april 2007.Greens had been sanded before we arrived which alarmed us when we played friday afternoon,as the weekend progressed the greens improved. This course has many challenging holes and would be enjoyed for the challenge, the scenery, and the clubhouse run by the owners, great fun not to strict and if its sunny a brilliant area to sit outside with a few beers. The packages on offer are great value and if you get the weather it is a brilliant place to spend some time
Played Thursday 23rd August 2007, disappointed by the overall condition of the course and facilities, no changing rooms, advised to change in the hall!Food average quality but facilities in need of a good overhaul to bring up to standard, prefered lies on back 9, 12 months of the year as course generally wet underfoot.
Stayed there April 2006, could not of asked for a more friendly welcome, the food and accommodation were 1st class. As for the course? It had rained for a week when we arrived, but the course was still playable and very very enjoyable, it was that good we have booked to go back in August so we can play the course when its at its best (hopefully), you can not get better value for money than the packages they provide, well recommended.
Great Food, Great hospitality, Great golf, Great Booze. Just try it will yer!! I've been six times, and the course is improving all the time. Steve and the staff are really friendly.
i have been and stayed at lagganmore and have found this great value you for money.steve and all the staff make you very welcome and the meals that are provided are top quality.the rooms are excellent and it has major amount of character for such a young golf course. the 1st hole looks simple but try and keep straight as it runs away to the right. 2nd nice and easy 3rd easy straight blind 4th dog leg right with stunning views from the tee.5th we renamed it gary's gulch as my mate lost 5 balls on gorse on right 6th easy 7th i think possibly the hardest to master with its double blind and postage stamp green with water just in front 8th easy the 9th really nice hole to play before the long 10th.11th straight forward 12th has banks on both sides so you need to hit straight and with a not so easy sloping green which is now getting changed to a 2 tier green 13,14,15,16 all reasonably straight forward before you come to 17th named BIG HELL a great hole to play you just have to see it surrounded by gorse on left and right you drive off trying to hit the downward slope that could leave you 8-9 iron on to the green if not lay up short and hit a 7 iron really love this hole. 18th easy.Well thats it from the alien game lot give it ago you wont be disappointed.
I have played this course for each of the past four or five years, and it has improved each time. From a start of very difficult and overbearing rough, it has a fairly good mix now. The greens are not the best, but the venue does do some excellent "stay and play" packages. Personally, I really like the Par 5 7th, which needs a long drive, a blind second shot, and then a third over a deep water filled ditch onto a small green, and the 17th which has you playing two blind shots downhill to the green (OK 1 blind shot if you can hit 50 yards further than me!!)
I played the course in April 2002 and found the it to be a real challenge after playing parkland courses in England. The first hole is made very difficult if your drive goes right, as mine did, and could involve a long walk back up to the green after your second shot. Although the rain lashed down all day, I really enjoyed my game, due to the relaxed atmosphere on the course and the wide , open fairways which were generous to my tee shots. The herds of sheep which can be found on the greens and fairways are a great contribution which help add another dimension to your game. Although this isnt the most manicured of courses it was great fun to play and has some of the most fantastic scenery you are likely to see. The picturesque ninth is the best looking hole ive ever played. The club house also provided a warm welcome after a wet and windy game. I am staying in port patrick for my honeymoon and will certainly be playing the course again.
