10 reviews of Loch Lomond Golf Club

Was very fortunate enough to receive an invite to play at Loch Lomond Golf Club on Tuesday 5th June, on a day when the weather done its veyr best to make it an truly unforgetable experience. Immediately the moment you arrive you realise this is a special venue. Announce yourself at the electronic security gates, and once confirmed you are admitted, and from here, its Golf at its very best. Drive up to the house (not the car park), one of the staff will collect your car & clubs, which will be waiting for you at the starter hut. Leaving you to enjoy breakfast, and get ready for the golfing feast ahead. When I was ready I headed off to the practice area, and had a double take, I actually kneeled down to check the quality of the grass on the practice putting green, at first I thought it was some form of smooth astro-turf, but no its was grass. More true than any I'd ever seen. Then the short game area, a large green with a few holes/flags, rpotected by a of serious bunkers, and surrounded by teeing ground and pyramids of balls ready to be aimed at the green. This short game area and green were as good as any green I'd played at (including Wentworth, Belfry, Woburn, Gleneagles). The course is sumptious, fairways kept immaculate, greens are absolutely in 110% condition, you could be mistaken for thiking they are brand new. No 2 holes are alike, and with most of the course having Loch Lomond itself as the back drop, it is golf at its best, in one of the most splendid settings. The venue staff cannot do enough to make you feel at home, but also try to let you settle into the environment and just enjot the experience. The course is only open to Members and members guests, but if you ever are lucky enough to receive an invite, grab it. It really is as good as golf gets.

I had the absolute life enhancing experience for eleven years. When I retired from flying with British Airways as a cabin service director, I was fortunate to secure a position at Loch Lomond. I was there when Rossdhu House was almost a ruin . I did my small part in helping to regenerate Rossdhu & was fortunate to see all the infrastructure taking place. A s for the course , I have played golf in many parts of the World , at some highly rated courses, and Loch Lomond is up there with the Worlds best. My job as starter gave me the opportunity to play the course frequently, also I was able as staff to play social golf at LLGC. The lay out is amazing,,the condition is unbelievable ,, and the entire set up is faultless. I wa also lucky to meet & greet vthe Worlds Top Golfers @ the Scottish Open, which for any golf enthusiast was a fabulous experience in itself . The tour players were exhausting in their love of the course, and I was proud to be part of the operation. Yes if you get a chance to play this masterpiece of golf architecture , do it, it's an experience. You will never forget, especially if the weather is good, the scenery of Loch Lomond is World famous , and breathtaking . I loved every moment of my eleven years working there as starter, I was sad to leave . Andy Hosie

I've played here twice and have been absolutely amazed both times. The condition of the course is the very best you'll experience in the UK. The facilities are excellent and have been very impressed by the service provided. Although the course is very exclusive they do make you feel very welcome as a members guest. The finishing holes are stunning and it is rightly considered to be the UK's best inland course.

I have been invited to play next week. The reviews are making me so nervous! Hope my legs stay still long enough for the first drive!

Sell your wife, your mother and your kids. Let that annoying git in the office be promoted above you. Drive an older car than your neighbour. Do whatever you need to to play this course - murder is normally socially unacceptable but if it's that or miss out, the jury (if they understand golf) will understand and you will be acquitted - it's that good. I've been lucky enough (with no murder involved) to play here twice and it is just sublime. From standing on the 1st tee and trying to guess which way you are expected to hit the ball (seriously) to the glorious 18th where the loch is a ball magnet, this is just superb. Please can I go again?

I have played Loch Lomond several times and have found it to be one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf I have played anywhere in the world. The golf course is superb with stunning views and holes to enjoy, while the clubhouse, service and staff add yet further to the experience. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a top quality round of golf at one of the worlds top clubs.

I've had the honour to play here twice now. This is as good as it gets. From the moment you arrive this place is special. This place has the best of everything. From the valet car/bag service to the beautiful locker room to the staff who treat you like a human being and are not snobby like at many far less elite clubs. Every member of staff acknowledges you as they pass, it's only a little thing but it's such a nice touch. You will need to be invited to play here but if you are lucky enough, do whatever you can to accept, even if that means selling a bodily organ. No matter how good you think you are this place will show you otherwise, think you hit long? Play off the back tees and see just how much further the pros hit it! Possibly the best golf course in the world.

I HAD THE PRIVILEDGE TO PLAY THE COURSE SEVERAL YEARS AGO.I AM ONLY JUST AWARE THAT I CAN GIVE MY COMMENTS ON THE COURSE.WORDS CANT EXPRESS THE EXCITEMENT AS YOU ARRIVE AT ROSSDHU HOUSE.THE FACILITIES/ATMOSPHERE WERE INCREDIBLE.THE COURSE ITSELF IS FIRST CLASS.I STILL HAVE MY SCORECARD.ROUND IN 82.A DAY THAT YOU WILL NEVER FORGET.

An absolute privelege to have been able to play here. The setting is second to none between the loch and the surrounding mountains and the course and facilities are absolutely first class. Typically in excellent condition with an army of greenkeepers to keep it that way. Worth mentioning are the excellent clubhouse staff, caddies and rangers who cannot do enough for you and add a little bit of something special to the day from beginning to end. Anyone who is lucky enough to get the chance to play here should take the opportunity, soak it all up and you will look back on a memorable round of golf for years to come.
