played this course yesterday - what a challenge ! it is a test for all golfing handicaps. the welcome is first rate .will certainly be going back.
Great nine hole golf course, when we were told that it only re-open November 2007 we were thinking should we give it a miss. The persuasive new owner John insisted that we would not be disappointed and insisted that we could pay our green fee after we had played. We were originally only going to play nine holes but were that impressed played the second nine from the other set of tees and were more than happy to pay our 18 hole fee. The welcome was great we also had a snack after our golf which was excellent. If you want to use all the clubs in your bag this is the course.
top class golf course i played it on 10 october very challenging,if you don't hit the ball strait you are in trouble
I found out this course has recently re-opened in Oct 07 and decided to give it a visit. It is a challenging course, that demands alot of accuracy. There are a few narrow holes and some tricky doglegs, but also a few straight forward holes. The course is hilly and the up hill walk to the 6th/15th is a beast! But once you get up there the view is pretty impressive. It is a very nice 9 hole course and the tee position changes on the 2nd time round so the holes do become slightly different. The staff are friendly and they have a shop, a bar and social area, and is good value for money.
A truly beautiful 9 hole course, but at this time of year (Nov 05) suitable only for fell-walking canoeists very (very!) wet and some steep slopes to climb. The recent wet weather meant standing water on the first green, and due to the muddy conditions, trolleys were banned. Even in the wet weather, and with the trees their shedding leaves, the greens were still in nice condition and the ground staff were out clearing away the dead leaves. The course is set in the picturesque Welsh hills not far from Wrexham. It cost £8 for nine holes, which is great value, but beware of the dog
This course is a local one for me and I have played it many times. I had never noticed that the sss was 62 - shurely shome mishtake! I'll have to check next time I visit. The course has a very testing second hole par five - the kind of hole that you walk away from in relief if you got down in single figures. More than five hundred yards of fairway that needs to be covered in two shots since your third is shooting up a steep hillock to an invisible green with trouble all around you! The whole course is well thought out and testing, and covers the kind of area wherein you might well expect to see eighteen holes.
