Larkhall Golf Club

i just love to read peoples comments about larkhall golf course as a member ive seen and played with all levels of golfers this is not an easy course as been described playing off the medal tees its a tough test , the course is a council run facility but kept in superb condition people rave about how superb the greens are the par 5 3rd is still one of the longest in scotland come and play in one of the open competitions and judge for yourself

Course plays very short, made up of par 3s, 4s and 5s. Par 4s are easily reachable with driver if you are a long hitter, and par 5s are also short and can be reached with two good shots. Course is in good condition for a council course although greens were very slow even after a week of warm & dry weather. £6.70 price per round is as cheap as you will find. Course would be notably good for beginners.

Council run facility - so you can't expect too much, especially at £5.50 for 9 holes (prices as of 16/10/2010). Having said that it's generally well kept - fairways have quite a lot of divots, but drainage seems pretty good, never too muddy. Greens are ok too, only a few threadbare spots - but that is due to the fact the course is very popular, always busy so sees a lot of play. Not especially challenging for good golfers but still good value for money and never lets you down.

A council run facility - 9 holes not the longest course in the world. Some excellent holes and the greens were in very good condition. One or two of the greens were two or three tiers making it difficult to judge the correct yardage into the green. One or two of the tees were a bit scrappy but at £4 for 9 holes this was excellent value and well worth the money.
