Lovely course, great welcome. Our society visited Bridgnorth yesterday in mixed weather. The first three holes are very hilly, then fourteen tight holes, some beside the Severn. Greens were fantastic. Last hole is back on the 'hilly side' with a blind final approach. Other than the course condiion, the abiding memory was the friendliness of the welcome. A "must go back" type of course.

Played on a dry, windy, summers evening. The course was in fantastic condition, although odd to find long cut grass right in the heart of the fairway on a couple of holes - designed of course, just not to my liking. First three holes, steep walking, reminiscent of Church Stretton, then over the road to some long, tight, tree lined fairways. The River Severn plays a part for a number of holes, swallowing up wayward sliced drives. All the greens are large and undulating, in good condition on the whole and running true. The tee boxes are well maintained, although I felt, playing off yellows, I was playing a very different course to the White Medal tees. Must be a real challenge playing off those. Not fully sure why we were, at times, 70 yds ahead of the whites when there's plenty of space to have the yellows keep the same feel to the distance, just 10 or so yds in front. Favourite holes were the eagleable 10th, and the 207yd(Yel) par 3 14th Welcome in the clubhouse was good, both in the proshop and bar. Will return next year, great value, especially with a county book!

First couple of holes on the clubhouse side of the road are extremely undulating, then crossing the road the tree lined fairways are flat and tight as they run up and down beside the River Severn. The course was in excellent condition when we played it in July. Cross back over the road for the 18th which is a classic old fashioned links hole.
