I have been a member of Lakeside Golf Club from 2009. I can confirm it is a challenging course, has excellent greens, friendly clubhouse and is superb value for money. 2013 was a great year for golf, greens were in fantastic condition. A credit to the staff and committee. Ignore the moaner below - clearly upset by some rain. Please note - that can happen to the best courses in the UK!
Would like to echo the views of the former captain in my little way. The staff, course and members all 10/10
I have been a member at Lakeside for over 30 yrs and as last years Captain i find the comments by Martin Badcoe off putting and could lead people to not play as visitors at Lakeside ! He obviously didnt mention that 13 holes are on a floodplain and when he played this summer(during very wet conditions)the course was luckily open !!!!If he came back and played in the dry he may have a different view the course when dry is one of the most challenging around and the greens are second to none. The bridge is only used when a delivery train is in and only takes a few minutes to move on ! And finally it is a members golf club which allows visitors and not as he says power station workers club .
Scruffy Course designed on a tight pieace of land. I played during the Summer of 2009 and the greens looked wet and sick, very yellow and not great to putt on. After crossing a very dangerous bridge (Not suitable for the elderly) I found a wet paddy field on the other side. On the whole not an enjoyable day, but it is what it is, a course for the Powerstation workers!
i have been a member of lake side golf course for over 30 years i have watched the course develop from 6 holes to 18 holes and its facilites and difficulties grow for the better all the time .Having played all over the country off at one time a 5 handicap its always been my motto if you can play likeside you can play any course not to long but you need your thinking cap on but so enjoyable . Having not played for 2years due to knee opp. cant wait to get on the little terror again All you golfers who havent tried it yet give it a try see if you agree with me Don Edwards
i have played at Lakeside golf club for 3 years now i am a junior member and the junior section is looking for some new junior members from age 10 to 18. It is a relativly hard course. However if u would like to play contact the club.
Very tight but interesting and varied course, with plenty of trouble.Half of course is on flood-plain of River Trent and can get wet and unplayable, though recent drainage work has improved matters a little. Course is not visible from any road, and is accessed via power station.
