6 reviews of Willesley Park Golf Club
Have played this course a few times now and thoroughly enjoy it! Good mixture of holes, there are a few scoring opportunities but in general, you need to be on top form. This isn't the sort of course that will destroy you as there are no water hazards and some of the fairways are wide and attractive to big hitters. However, try to burn it up and it can leap up and bite you on the backside! The strength in Willesley is definately in the par 3's. There are four in total (6, 10, 16 and 17) and none are easy to par. Having two one after another at the end is a little quirky too, but it does make players think towards the end of their round, as both tee shots require nerve. The bar and restaurant looked inviting, typical golf club fayre really with sport on the big screen, but it seems to work well. Members also seemed friendly and we have been told we are welcome here anytime! Oh - quick tip: The exit barrier needs a code from the pro-shop. Remember to ask for it otherwise there will be a traffic jam on the car park as you try to leave and dash back inside to ask for it!
Played in a Society Day on the 4th June 2004. An excellent course and a good test of golf for all standards of golfer. Greens and fairways in excellent condition. Catering for the day excellent.
Marvellous golf club, with a warm welcome for visitors
Marvellous golf course, warm welcome given to visitors. If you like old established golf courses that are a challenge, with beautiful scenery and do not have greens the size of football pitches then you will enjoy Willesley Park.
I think that Willesley Park is a great golf course and is well worth visiting fo its great value!
A lovely course in almost perfect surroundings. Very linear in design, very few holes have dramatic turns in them. Some of the holes are challenging, with narrow fairways and lots of woods in close proximity. The 10th is particularly interesting; a par 3 with a two step drop (approximately 50 meters in total) with a narrow entrance into the green. The only failing is the area near the turn, which is in close promximity to a motorway. The noise this generates can be distracting. Apart from this small complaint, the course is well worth visiting.
