4 reviews of Golf Costa Adeje
Subsequent to my earlier review, I have just returned from a golf trip in TF, during which time we played Costa Adeje twice. We played the championship 18 which was in fine fettle, and I must admit, the attitude of the staff both prior to our rounds and afterwards was fine, and , though hot, the drinks buggy did materialise, twice on each occasion. The pre-round lunch is fine and well worth having....perhaps I may get to like this place after all....
Quite a spectacular first few holes, long up-hill par 4 start, then a gentle par 3, followed by a sweep down towards the sea, with the characteristic former banana plantation shelves transiting across the fairways. BEWARE , these are difficult to see when going downhill and we have witnessed a buggy "fly" over one such drop, the occupants being oblivious to the step in front of them , fortunately, without any harm to man nor vehicle. After the first 7 holes, it becomes a bit of a chore until the final 4 holes which are very interesting and visually stimulating. Also, if it's a realluy hot day, the drinks "buggy" tends to make itself scarce just when you need it, which is pretty demoralising if you're walking the course, and thirsty. Not my favourite 'rife course, but one you must try at some point, though if you get the alternative 9 holes down the "hill" instead of the full championship, then you've really drawn the short straw. As for the clubhouse, service pretty disappointing , to be honest
I can only second Phil's comment. The championship course is lovely, the greens are great, and so is the service and atmosphere in the clubhouse. Take care on #8 and avoid the right hand side until you see the green! Playing there on Feb 6 only meant that winter prices of 85 were up (comparable to most of the surrounding courses) and that early reservation was neccessary. Nevertheless, I rate this as the best course below 100 in the south-west. I also recommend the affiliated "Los Lagos" course which is situated just a mile downhill, 9 holes Par 68 for 32 (9 holes) and 48 (18 holes). This little beauty stands for some perfect golfing hours at budget prices, including some challenge (water and barranca), at least one stunning hole (#5, attach your safety belts!) and beautiful views of the sea and the mountains, to be followed by a comfortable terrasse bar.
I played this course whilst on holiday - booked through Going Golf Tenerife. The course is well worth a visit. There are many excellent holes with excellent sea views. The fairways are fairly generous, although the tiers as you play downhill can be tedious if you are pulling a trolley! The par is a testing 72 made up of 6 each of 3s, 4s and 5s. The greens are exceptionally fast when putting towards the sea and slow in the opposite direction - major problem when putting across this line! Cost 53 euros and worth every cent. Clubhouse luxurious - changing rooms with towels provided - essential when playing in the perfect weather out there. Enjoy!
