2 reviews of Golf Las Americas
Quite a course, probably the lushest on the island, with plenty of grass around on and off the fairways, very grand and stylish clubhouse and facilities. It seems to be set in a bowl so it holds the heat in! Enjoyable course with trees and water features, challenging but enjoyable holes with receptive greens, plenty of water features too. I have seen an emu on the 14th fairway, so that was a first. Whilst it is regarded as one of the priciest on the island, it's a very nice course.
Las Americas is affiliated to a high-class hotel in the touristic center of south-western Tenerife. This guarantees a luxury environment, a certain quality plus elevated prices. At 96 winter greenfee it is second to only one course in the area. The fairways are intelligently arranged around the hotel, and though it is inmidst of an urban area, it provides more space and calmness than you may imagine. Practicing area included. The course is undulating in the first nine and almost flat in the second nine. The conditions are great until you arrive at the greens. These badly needed mowing and were very soft, thus damaged by one day's pitches, disappointing at that price. Still we had a fine day out, enjoying some surpring holes, easily walking and carrying our bags (GPS buggies available). The service is perfect, as is the restaurant terrasse (unless an errant ball from #18 finds its way up).
