2 reviews of Tynemouth Golf Club Ltd

we played tynemouth on the 27th May and every member of the fourball really enjoyed the course. its strange to think that the course is slap bang right in the middle of tynemouth but is very tranquil and peaceful. its classed as a parklands course and was in very good condition when we played. the greens were true but very hard due to the lack of rain and high winds which were present during our game too. still for the bargain price of £15 on a 2fore1 it was well worth the money. its a course i would like to return to in calmer conditions and i would certainly play several of the holes differently on another visit. i think course knowledge would be a definate advantage for any future games and would possibly help lower my overall score by 3 or 4 shots at least. the clubhouse was modern and we received great service in it and also from the young gentleman in the pro shop. a great little track! overall score 7.5 out of 10

We played Tynemouth on 26/10/06 for the bargain price of £11.25 using a 2 fore 1 voucher. I was amazed that we played at all considering the amount of rain it had put down for the previous 12 hours, but the course was open and surprisingly dry. It still managed to blow as much of a gale as we are used to on the Fylde coast though! It is a decent track; no great length, but in good condition for the time of year. Beware the "ravine" which you first encounter at the 2nd, but can't see from the tee. It comes into play later too. The staff and members were friendly and helpful, but we didn't go into the clubhouse afterwards, so can't comment on it. A word of advice if you are using Sat Nav to find it. Spital Dene doesn't exist in Tynemouth, nor King Edward Road, which the club is on. Try entering North Shields as your town instead as there's a road sign for it near the club entrance.
